Great TV

Pretty annoyed that the only reason I bought it from Best Buy was the $50 worth of rewards points that they were going to give me, but that has apparently been discontinued and now it is too late to return it. I won’t be shopping at Best Buy again.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Perform a Power Reset:
Turn off the TV.
Unplug the TV power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn on the TV.
Update the TV Software:
Ensure your TV software is updated to the latest version. Use the Sony remote to go to the help screen and check for a software update.
Check TV Settings:
If the TV turns on or off at regular intervals, check the settings for timers and auto power features.
Disable the On timer or Timer settings.
Disable the TV auto power on setting in BRAVIA Sync settings or HDMI CEC Settings
If you are using a cable box connected to the TV via an HDMI® cable, please set the Bravia Sync to OFF or use a CEC-less HDMI cable or adapter to prevent the TV from rebooting or restarting.

Posted .Hi JessicaH, we're genuinely sorry to hear that you've gone through those inconveniences and that your Sony - Bravia 8 is not powering on. This is not the experience we want you to have, here are some simple troubleshooting steps you can try:
1- Unplug the TV from the power for 2 mins and then plug it back in
2- Disconnect all external devices from the back and try a different power outlet
3- Try to manually turn on the TV from the power button located underneath the TV in the middle.

Sony Picture Quality is the best

I was using an Apple TV with my older Sony TV connected through an AV receiver prior to getting this Bravia. I'm now just using the built in Google TV connected directly to my AV receiver on the new Bravia 8. HDMI handshakes are now always flawless, no long delays waiting for Apple TV to start decoding Dolby Atmos, it's all very fluid and fast. Moved the Apple TV to my other TV. Also to correct another review here, it does not always default sound output to the TV; my receiver is always outputting the sound when the Bravia is turned on. I didn't even have to indicate any setting on the TV for this to happen.

It a beautiful screen and certainly lives up to it’s description. The smart TV setup and operation are very easy to use. What’s more to say? It’s also a great value!

Exeptional picture and performance.

Pc and video games look equally as stunning. Watch out for burn-in and oversaturation. The sound is a bit limited but using hdmi arc features make it a very enticing option with an external home theather amplifier.

Amazing picture quality

If you are looking for the full theater experience I would recommend a sound bar or external sound system as that may be the only weakness of the TV. For regular TV watching the built in speakers and sufficient.

Sony OLED Broke After 14 Months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent $2000 of Sony OLED TVs that stopped working after 14 months (black screen blinking red light). 2 months after the Warranty was up, Sony basically told me to eat the loss. Sony doesn't care about it's customers losing their money on their products. The picture is great but OLED doesn't last as long as the older TVs. A TV repairman told they breakdown often. If you buy, make sure you get the 5 year warranty but after 5 years, you are on your own. Back in 2013 I bought a Samsung on display for $500 that is still working. don't be fooled by new technology and be ready to buy a new TV every 5 years or so.
