Great compact 4k Video camera. Good photos, fast focus

Is a great camera professional to beginners . You gotta read the manual tough.

I went in to just look at camera options and ending up walking out with a new camera and all the accessories. The associate was able to answer every question I had. I didn’t expect to get a Sony mirrorless model but it was well worth the price.

This camera offers high end features for beginners and intermediate photographers. It doesn’t have all the confusing options but still puts out high quality images

I take this a6500 camera with me every were . Love it.

I bought it a week before my. trip to Ireland. I bought 4 batteries from Best Buy because I had read reviews that said the camera burns throughout batteries fast. I charged all my battery to be prepared. When I got to Ireland , the battery was stuck in the camera . I tried numerous times to release it. Another photographer on the trip had the same camera , said she had to get a whole new camera because you cannot get the battery out. She said I was doing nothing wrong and that it was a flaw in this Sony camera. After returning home I had an ankle fusion surgery, so I am not weight bearing. I hope when I contact Best Buy they give me a new camera, or I want a refund on the camera and all the accessories I purchased. I was so disappointed that this happened on a long awaited photo tour of Ireland. I hope with a brand new camera, I can write a stellar review.

Auto focus sucks. Even manual focus doesn't work sometimes.

The pictures look good on the screen. Once downloaded they are terrible.

I spent a lot of time deciding which camera to purchase. I had been using a Canon 80D, but the video quality was not great. I finally decided to purchase the Sony 6500. The video quality is superb. However, what no one tells you, is that for photographing, the flash is the worst ever made on top of the camera. I use the 18-135mm lens and with each photograph, there is a shadow ring on the bottom of the image. People will tell you just use an external flash - but that is why I bought this camera NOT to use an external flash. However, when speaking to a Best Buy camera rep, he indicated that I could up the ISO considerably without any big issues with noise or grain. For the most part, he was right. I have shot photographs using an ISO of 10,000 - a little grainy, but not bad compared with what it would have been with a regular camera. There is a lot to learn using this camera so be prepared to read and view the YouTube videos. The online Sony user guide does not adress a lot of the issues. So, now I bring both cameras along. I do want to mention that the clarity of the photographs with the Sony far outway any from the Canon 80D.

Sony Alpha a6500 bundled with Sony 18-135 lens is a very good solution for both everyday photographer/videographer and advanced prosumer. Camera is relatively small and lightweight while packed with virtually every feature you may ever need to take outstanding pictures and videos, including 4k. AF and metering systems are both fast and accurate. As a result, at least 95% of my pictures and videos are very much usable. Camera is equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios for easy images/footage transfer to your smartphone, remote camera control and obtaining geo-tagging information from paired GPS-enabled smartphone. When it comes to the price tag, it now looks reasonable after $200 camera price drop and additional $100 off 18-135 OSS lens. As always Sony camera quality is high. It is too early to assess the product durability, but so far so good.
