Commercial grade system for your home
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Soooo many features in this surveillance system! I did have a problem pairing my device but it was my own fault and customer service was outstanding. Once up and running they even took the time to walk me through some features. Video quality is amazing day or night. The cameras are connected by a plug so while it does need to be plugged in, you don’t have to worry about your batteries dying and charging or forgetting to charge etc. Once plugged in they are already paired wirelessly with the control box so you don’t have to run wires from outside to indoors. Definitely makes installation easier. The lights on the camera are really bright and along with the siren can be adjusted. I love that recording on the device is free and can record up to 180 days. Facial and vehicle recognition are also really cool features so you can personalize your alerts. You can set the different cameras to record different such as always recording or motion activated in case you have some sketchy neighbors across the street you’d like to keep an extra eye on that the motion detection wouldn’t necessarily pick up. The app, once the system is set up, is very straight forward and easy to use. Viewing recordings from the app is simple and the video is super clears. I have zero complaints about this security system and highly recommend it and I really look forward to playing with it more to learn more features and maybe finding some fun things to record with my extra camera like the bird habitat under my deck despite my attempts to remove nests. If you can’t beat them, join them. Highly recommend.

Wi-Fi camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Certain new cameras will have the capability to change the type of signal they output to maintain compatibility with less advanced DVRs. These cameras will usually have a control on their attached cabling (usually a button or stick control) that you can use to adjust the signal output. Check your camera documentation to confirm the control method for signal output, and try all the options available to test if one of the signal types is compatible.

Good wireless security camera system on a budget
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Swann Security Camera system and first wireless one as well. I was impressed with the ease of setup. The included instructions sheet is easy to follow and will make your installation a breeze. The unit comes with 4 channel 4K 1TB NVR, four 4K wireless cameras with power cables and power adapter, HDMI cable, Ethernet cable, and a USB Mouse. Although the cameras are wireless, you do need to plug in the camera to a power outlet, which I liked as I didn't want to drill holes and run cables through the house to connect with the base. When you do that, make sure you have a strong Wi-Fi signal throughout your home or make sure you have the mesh Wi-Fi setup for best connection. Mounting of the cameras are easy and it comes with the mounting screws. Once you setup the cameras, connect the NVR to a TV and turn on the system, you can start viewing the videos from the cameras. The iPhone companion app was very friendly and lets you view the recordings and live camera views remotely. The best part is there are no subscriptions or monthly charges, and all recordings are stored on the NVR base up to 180 days, which is plenty for my usage. Camera video quality was amazing, 4K picture quality, supports motion detection with notifications, two way audio, night lights, siren, heat sensors, etc. which can easily be customized based on your need. Overall, if you are looking for a high quality budget wireless security camera system, then this is a great choice to consider.

Excellent security system, not a great app.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Swann Wireless Security system has more features in a security system than I’ve ever seen before, the problem is, its controlled by a buggy app. Inside the box includes, 4 wireless 4k security cameras, the NVR with 1TB HDD and power cables. Installing the camera system is a lot easier than traditional wired systems, but you still need to run power to the cameras. Luckily, the company provides you with 4 – 40ft power cables, making it long enough to reach a power source. The only thing that needs to be plugged into the NVR is a power cable (if you plan on setting it up over WiFi). When I first set up my system, I decided to use the included ethernet cable and plug it directly into my router. While it worked, it was very slow for some reason…I decided to switch the NVR over to WiFi, surprisingly is worked much faster. The NVR has an HDMI output so you can connect a 4k display to look at your 4k recordings. You can also stream your live feed or recording from the Swann Security app. Once your able to log onto your system settings, there you can see all the different options you have. The setting menu is a little advance and, in my opinion, could’ve been organized a bit better. I wish they would have made is easier to toggle the core features of the camera system, as well as give better instructions on how to set things like spotlight detection, siren etc. Once everything was up and running, I was very impressed with the quality of the video. It actually looks like 4k resolution. Keep in mind, I was viewing this on a 4k tv, I was only able to get 480p through the mobile app. The mobile app is supposed to work in conjunction with the security system. From the app, you are able to view your camera’s live feed as well as recordings. There are other features you can do like, set your preference to home or away, toggle the spotlight and delete old recordings from the cloud. The problem with the app, is that the only features I was able to use, were live view and check my recordings. But when playing back my recordings, they are always messed up. They never play the full length; it somehow skips through half the clip and ends. This happens on every recording I have. There is also a section labeled “Modes” which you’re supposed to be able to change the different presets, but I have no options on mine – it’s just a blank screen. The app is supposed to be the backbone of the security system, but it fails to deliver the proper experience. The app needs to add settings for your system to be able to set and control right from your mobile device. It needs to have the ability to adjust the alert zone of your cameras, set record preferences, adjust the siren etc. It does none of that. There also needs to be a bigger talk button to press to be able to 2-way talk to people in view of the camera. Overall, I really like the camera system. When viewing the system on a 4k tv, that’s when you can see the true quality of the cameras and they look good. Unfortunately, the app that controls it needs a lot of work. The system does do a good job at notifying you when someone enters the view, and it starts recording immediately which is nice. Unfortunately, playing back the recordings from the app will skip half the video, plus they only play in 480p. I still have no idea if the videos are being recorded on the NVR’s HDD or saved to the cloud, and I haven’t found the option to change it either. If Swann ever decides to incorporate the settings into the app, then I think they have a homerun on their hands. As of now, there’s a lot of potential with the system, the only thing that’s holding it back is the mediocre app. I still would recommend this though, even with the buggy app, there is no subscription fee and it does good at notifying you.

Ease of use and installation…great video to boot!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Swann - Enforcer 4-Channel, 4-Camera Indoor/Outdoor 4K UHD Wireless Wi-Fi NVR Security Surveillance System solves the main problem most people struggle with when looking into utilizing and installing a camera system in their home…the wiring. With the only thing necessary to get your cameras up and running being access to an outlet and a Wi-Fi signal, the Swann - Enforcer removes the barrier of having to run wiring to cameras from a Video Recorder. The system is easy to setup and configure and comes with 4 cameras and the Digital NVR recorder that has an amazing 1TB of storage space. The picture quality is amazing and along with the companion app you can easily access the cameras and recordings. I do have a very robust Wi-Fi network in my house so I had no connectivity issues with the cameras etc, that’s the only potential watch out I’d say, make sure your wireless network in your house is strong. Overall Id very strongly recommend this wireless security system to contribute to you and your family's peace of mind.

Excellent Choice for Many Applications
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Swann - Enforcer™ 4-Channel, 4-Camera Indoor/Outdoor 4K UHD Wireless Wi-Fi NVR Security Surveillance System w/ 1 TB HDD is a very good choice - if you have the right combination of supporting resources. In other words, you need to have: - Good, solid wifi with strong coverage wherever you're going to place the cameras. - Electrical outlets within convenient distance of the cameras. If you've got these, you'll find the Swann - Enforcer™ 4-Channel, 4-Camera Indoor/Outdoor 4K UHD Wireless Wi-Fi NVR Security Surveillance System w/ 1 TB HDD to be an excellent choice. It does take more time to choose and place the cameras and provide the connection to power. The rechargeable camera's I've used are much easier to set up initially. However, I find it so much better to take the time up front to have wired power than to keep up with a changing regimen. Too often I've lost camera input while away because I'd forgotten to recharge the camera. Also, the 1TB NVR lifts this system to a whole other level compared to those which use micro-discs, subscriptions, or in-app recording scenarios. I can't speak for the Android app, but I found the iPhone app to be very useful. This is an excellent choice for those looking for a 4-camera setup.

Good 4K Wireless Camera System
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We just moved into a new home and I wanted to get a stand alone camera system for our large barn (1500 sq ft) at the back of the property. I wanted something that was WiFi capable and could provide me with visibility in and around the barn as well as to keep an eye on our chicken coup. I’ve had Swann products before and decided this would be a good stand alone unit for what we wanted so picked it up. The setup was relatively straightforward. I was able to configure everything relatively easily and quickly through the on-screen wizard using just the supplied mouse. While I didn’t try it, I assumed I could have plugged a USB keyboard into the unit and made the setup move that much faster, but I couldn’t find my wired USB a keyboard in the pile of boxes we have still yet to unpack. I put a camera up inside the barn and the remaining three at various vantage points outside the structure. I’m getting a really good image with the 4K cameras. Night vision works quite well. Setup was quick and easy. My biggest challenge was getting power to each of the cameras but Swann included extra power wire which made things a lot easier. I also downloaded the iOS app and it works well. Provides for the standard functions you’d expect from an app for this purpose. Probably the only knock I have on this unit is the lack of some sort of alternative power source, like a built in battery with some sort of solar panel option which is why i left it at 4 stars. Other than that this is a solid CCTV solution.

Super Easy - Great Picture Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't been the biggest fan of Swann products but this product is changing my mind. Starting from the beginning. As always the packaging is impeccable with the components organized into smaller boxes and compartments inside the main box. Everything you need is included. Setup is where I really took a sigh of relief. Following the quick set up guide I had video in just a few minutes. Really, I cant think of how it could have been easier to get going. Then it was a matter of installation. Yes other systems are totally wireless but they are much more expensive and require accessories to keep a battery charged or constant maintenance. This is really the best of both worlds. It is likely you have power available just about everywhere more readily than a wire network connection. The cameras seem very solid and have plenty of adjustability to aim them where you need, Other set up like notifications and alert sensitivity are very easy. Download the app for your phone for quick access to just about all functions are at your finger tips.

Awesome Wireless System
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking for an actual survellienace system but have been off bu the thought of running wires, this is the system you need! I'm in a rented duplex and have been using multiple small cameras from different manufacturers and this is definitely a step up. It's easy to est up, and unlike cheaper cameras, this comes with an actual hard drive to store your videos, while still allowing you to check on things through the app. It was easy to install-- the cameras communicate to the NVR wirelessly, so no running cables through the walls. The vide quality is fantastic, even in low light. I tested the siren and flashing lights once, and I think I scared the neighbors! My only suggestion is that Swann include magnetic or 3M style adhesive for mounting. I had to get my landlord's approval to mount the cameras because the required mounting with screws.

good system with minor issues
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have in the past had a wired security system; you would have to run wires from every camera to the DVR. With the Swann Enforcer Wi-Fi system, the great thing is you do not have to replace any batteries like most Wi-Fi systems, the bad news is you still need to plug it into a power source. It comes with 60-foot cables that you use, but you will have to find a plug to hook it up to. On my installation we still had to drill a hole in the wall to find a plug inside to use. It would be a small improvement if it had a built-in battery backup, having power is one of the downsides of a security system. Even if the cameras could still function, without power your DVR would not. The system itself is great, the cameras have a spotlight built in that you can manually turn on or off, has red and blue flashing lights and a built-in siren, it is pretty loud so test it during the daytime. They also record in 4K and have true detect that picks up heat signals from people, to help prevent false alarms. When mounting the cameras, I have one word of caution, do not mount them sideways. I mounted two of mine sideways thinking I could rotate the image, but as of this review there is nothing in the manual or thru their support that has been able to rotate the image. There is a mobile app for Android or Apple, easily keep tract of live view or notifications for alarms. It’s a great system in need of a couple of improvements.

Complete junk
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been doing security cameras around my house for nearly a decade and a half. Used to use the Logitech Alert cameras, LOVED them, but then Logitech cancelled them. I liked the Ethernet over Power that the Logitech cameras provided, and I didn't want to have to run cables. So it was time for wireless. I've gone through several brands now since discontinuing my Logitech system. Some better than others, but all lacking somehow. My current system I've used for the last year now is a 1440k resolution wireless camera that came with a 1 TB NVR that I upgraded to a 4 TB NVR. Camera details are great, I was pleased with the picture quality, but their software was annoying on both IOS and my Windows 10 laptop, and even the NVR itself was a source of frustration. Randomly it would simply be locked. I put an Alexa enabled smart power plug there so I could restart it easily when I needed to. Also, any time it rebooted, it started up in 10 camera mode, even though I had only 4 cameras. So when I'd go to watch it on the TV, it was using a fraction of my 4k OLED's screen for the cameras, the rest were blank empty squares for cameras not connected. They could never figure out how to make their software default to the view that actually MATCHED your number of cameras. Failing that it would've been nice if it could simply remember the last setting. My biggest complaint since losing the Logitech systems though was a narrow field of view. The Logitech system was AMAZING when it came to FOV, and every camera I've had since has been a disappointment and a compromise of "Which side of this part of the yard do I want to be able to see?" The Swann system arrived well packaged. I'm not a fan of the NVR. I kept my old one on a shelf in my entertainment center. Thanks to the new Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5 I already had to redo my entertainment center and raise up my TV since those wouldn't go as simply under the TV as the previous. So I have no convenient place to put this in an upright position. Also since it's a much smaller form factor, I can't just take one of my 4 TB drives laying around and put it in to quadruple the storage. I'm assuming it's a smaller laptop size drive in here. I will likely upgrade it later if I keep using it, but for now I'm leaving it as is. Cameras use the standard barrel power connector, which I was happy to see since that means I can set up my system inside the house here for testing, get everything named and pre-set, then just spend a couple minutes at each point on my eaves unscrewing the existing ones and plugging these into the same power cords that are right there already. I was pleased they didn't do something like a proprietary plug type. Setup defaulted to a low res screen, but setting it to 4k didn't require a reboot. I liked that since I had one previously that was hardcoded to a VERY low res as default and you could not even plug it into a 4k system initially, had to go into a low res computer monitor. Initially it showed a lot of camera spots and only four used, like my current one does, and I was annoyed that I would have to deal with the same issue of it trying to show more cameras than the system had, but during setup it knocked everything down to just four camera views once it realized that was all that connected. Email setup - I was pleased, it had an "automatic" option so no need to set it up to email me from my Gmail account or something, it just asked what email address I wanted to send to, showed who it would show sending from, and the test succeeded. Bonus points for having their own back end setup to simplify this. If I use this one now, I may be able to kill the insecure settings on my Gmail account that I use to send security clips from up to this point. I am NOT a fan of a mouse only input. I don't know if there is a way to manage this at this point from a web UI, nothing in the documentation shows that. I have 110 smart devices on my network and didn't see anything in the DHCP pool that showed something obvious like Swann so I had to stick with the main interface and mouse input. I finished the on screen setup, once again despising the mouse. I usually use a numeric pin for the console on these, and this one lacks an on screen keyboard with a numeric keypad, so you have to drag the mouse left and right a lot for a numeric pin. My current one has an option to not require the sign in for the console and hopefully there's something similar here that I'll find later (update, I never DID find that option). All four cameras were recognized and connected, so then it was time to play a bit. Next irritation - their simple step by step pages lack a QR code for IOS, like they include for Android. I had to manually go find it, although I was pleased to see such a high rating on the IOS app store with 9.4k people rating it. Got the app installed, registered my account, and then more frustration. I'm already sick of entering my PIN on the console. I have found no way to kill that requirement. And now, get this - three cameras are within 6 feet during setup of the NVR with NOTHING between them and it, the other camera is about 20 feet from it - and my signals are "medium" and "weak" already? Any camera that can't get anything other than a low signal IN THE SAME ROOM is clearly not going to work well when you start placing them on the OUTSIDE of the home... So I went around and turned off all the other devices I had around here just in case there was some interference. No change. Got my app connected, not a difficult process. So far the only way I found to rename my devices (I prefer Front Yard vs. Channel 1) was in the app, but I've yet to see it update the unit itself and the display on the TV. My big concern is i keep losing the live view on my phone, sitting in the same room with the unit right in front of me. I assume I'm going out to their mothership and then back in here to my device. I don't know if they have a "local mode" connection option or not, I've found nothing to let me try yet, the documentation is lacking. But there is a several second delay in what I move in the house and what's displayed on the TV already directly from the NVR’s HDMI output. The IOS app seems far worse, and since 95% of the time so far I get nothing but the blank camera with a MINUS sign showing that the app isn't connecting to anything, I have as of now been unable to compare the lag between the console output on my TV directly and what the app sees. The few times I can get the mobile app to connect at all, it's a horrible view. My current one (Yeskimo) lets me view all four at a time on a single page on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. This one can't do more than 2 at a time if I go landscape, and four at a time really tiny if I go portrait orientation. I finally got the app to show the four cameras (not live, just a preview of whatever they last saw I'm guessing. Pressed one to go live, 58 seconds later of "preparing to stream" the app finally abnormally exited. I am on a 200mb cable connection here, I have plenty of bandwidth. Never had an issue with ANY of my other cameras. And I certainly have never had their apps simply exit and be unable to display the live feed at all... Back into the app, select my NVR, have it go to the four camera view where it just shows placeholders again. Try to hit one, it came up for a second as a static image, not live, then went away, another one came up, goes away, then all four vanish and it's back at the beginning screen showing connecting to the DVR. Then it's back to four screens, all four showing a preview, then three disconnected again. Try to click on the only one showing a preview image, back to "preparing to stream" for almost a minute before everything crashes again. I found the IP it was using, tried to get at it via a web page, and despite both the admin account AND the named one I made for myself having remote login enabled, neither would authenticate. And just to try that I had to enter the annoying PIN like three more times. Found a page where I could set ports used by the various technologies, and while it was responding to me on port 80 for the web browser, it showed web using 85 by default. I changed it to 80, and then I couldn't even get a login prompt that I got previously, just an error that NONE of my browsers supported the plugin, it needed older versions OR EARLIER. So clearly no web access or management here. And at no point did the display EVER show the edited names I gave the cameras rather than Channel 1, Channel 2, Channel 3, and Channel 4. On reboot it shows the four camera view and a big ugly "LOGIN" page that takes up nearly as much room as an entire camera view does. Really? Why nag for a login when there hasn't even been a MOUSE CLICK yet? They are so pin happy on this system, that even if the rest of the system wasn't utter junk, that annoying PIN would have made me decide to abandon the Swann device... I don't know if these are RTSP compatible or not. I was tempted to see if I could connect them to my Synology NAS using its NVR program, but I just don't see the value in that. Even if it worked, I'm still losing my easy ability to view my cameras from my PC or laptop when I'm at the office, since I've found no way to do so with the Swann system. And since their IOS app doesn't work at ALL, I'd have no way to view anything if I wasn't sitting in the house already looking at the TV. At that point I may as well just step out the front door. I had hopes for this - I really wanted to upgrade my system to a 4k camera system. But now I regret getting this, it's just now a waste of money that I can't get rid of and wish I had ignored when I had the chance to try it out. Even the cheap things I used after the Logitech system far outperformed this sad system.

Pro quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once you get the NVR configured, the cameras were super easy to set up. For me, as soon as they had power they showed up in the monitor. They use normal 12v security camera power, and that's the only wire they need, so you can put them just about anywhere. Connectivity is pretty solid, and they can connect directly to the NVR or through your wifi. The image quality is impressive. You can zoom in really tight when you need to, and it takes sharp video in the dark. What really stands out is the functionality. The search and detection features of the NVR are really good. You can text search your recordings for people, animals, cars, etc. Remote playback through the app is much quicker than any other system I've used. The recordings play within a couple of seconds. It's a great setup with four cameras. It's a little weird that it can't be expanded, but it's great if you are monitoring a small area. I put a couple on the corners of the house, and one on the edge of my backyard pointing at the house. If you needed more cameras, I believe that you could access multiple sets through the same app. So, for easy setup, versatile placement, and very powerful NVR, I really recommend this set.

Huge Upgrade
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system is like having my own personal CCTV in my home. The video quality is excellent, even at night. I like the size of the NVR, it is a lot smaller compared to other ones I had which is a good thing. All of the different camera settings are very good to have, I can set things up exactly the way I want. The only problem I had was connecting the app to the NVR. Overall, I am happy with this system.

Swann Enforcer Indoor/Outdi 4K Camera Indoor/Outdo
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received my Swann Enforcer 4K Wireless Security Camera system a week or so ago and have been putting it through the ringer. I was very exited about this camera system when it arrived. However, some of that hope dimished when I opened up and the box and started the installation process. It took longer than I thought it would due to it refusing to recognize and connect to my home wireless network for about an hour. Inside the box is the is all the parts you need to install your cameras inside or outside your home. I installed mine at my front door, back door, inside my garage, and my living room. Setting up the cameras was not hard, however, quickly began running into complications after getting everything connected. I had to hard reset the NVR several times (at least 3). Also I had to disconnect the power cord from the NVR for a few seconds to reset it. Finally after about an hour of trying reboots and resets, it loads up and the first thing that popped up was a firmware update that took about 45 minutes to download. Not sure it their network sever was slow or what but I have a very fast download speed but it seemed like it took forever to download. Then install went fairly quickly. Next the setup wizard started and it finally recognized and connected to my home network. Pairing each camera was a bit cumbersome but I finally got them all up and running. Now the best part of this experience was the resolution. 4K quality on my TV was amazing. I'm on the fence about this system. Maybe it'll get better with future updates. Rigt now I feel there may be better systems out there.
