For $250, it is not a bad purchase. Good overall picture quality and sound. It is also good with current generation console, as you can tap into 120hz via resolution halving. In other words, despite it being only a native 60hz panel, by reducing resolution to 1080p or 1440p on your consoles you can get 120hz in your games that support it. My only cons with the tv are that the OS is a bit sluggish at times and that there is a weird edge bleed all around the edges, creating a light, pulsating border.

Great TV for an amazing price! I bought this for $250 around Black Friday and I currently have no complaints. I’ve been using it for console gaming on the ps5. The colors are good and the input delay isn’t bad. My main love of the tv is the 120 hz, though it only hold 60 hz when you turn it on 4k resolution. The sound on the tv is awesome too, no need for extra speakers and/or soundbars.

This TCL 50in TV was perfect for my backyard patio.The color ,sound is outstanding. The TV is lite enough to mount on the wall by yourself, I highly recommend and the price is affordable

I purchased two of these for a game room and they’ve been set up for about a month now. The picture quality is really nice and the refresh rate while gaming has been great, no complaints from anyone in the house. The colors on each tv look a little different in the photo because they were set by different people to separate game systems but when both TVs are playing the Apple TV it looks great. I want to get a soundbar installed because our surround sound system was too outdated to use with them but the sound quality from the TVs themselves is perfect in the meantime. It was our first time buying this brand and we have not been disappointed at all.

Nice bright picture color, light weight and easy to set up smart tv features. Perfect size for a bed room or office. Amazon sells $6 backlight strips that give the room a whole new look also!

I purchased the TCL 50Q550G for an exceptional price. Replaced my 2008 Sony Bravia 39" 1080p. Wow, talk about lighting up the kitchen. Beautiful picture right out of the box. I'm very satisfied. I'm using Bose Lifestyle 12 for sound. Special HDMI converter had to be purchased to convert from RCA connection on Bose system to HDMI on TCL.

Great TV purchased on sale , picture looks great , Os is good speakers can’t get loud but not that much base but actually sound very good , operating system can get a little laggy at times but you can always close out some apps , honestly for the price it’s great beats out my 2year old Samsung TV($500) not going back sticking with TCL love my 50 inch , don’t wait just get it !!!!!! , in this price range you can not go wrong !!! I’m very satisfied with my purchase. I didn’t need anything bigger or more expensive, so I shopped around online and found this unit at BestBuy. I watch movies, series, the news, and play music videos - I’m not a gamer. I think it has a fantastic picture and sound, and it’s easy to set up and use. No complaints.

The quality of this TV for the price was amazing. We ended up going back to Best Buy and buying a second one! The first one we bought in the store as a recommendation from a BB employee (we were in the store to buy a different brand/model). The speakers are not awesome...but that is to be expected. It was easy to set up. We bought an Apple TV because we have all things Apple, but honestly with the Google interface, you don't need to buy one!

They make a great TV wall for the budget minded picture is great for the price. Using internet only no cable hook ups. Customer service was :-( until i was in the store to make a purchase sales girl could not show or explain to me the difference between the tv's. Then excused herself to go show a different Customer something far less in value. No worries i was heading out to do my research on line and probably by from big smiley and they of course deliver. On the way out the center store manager asked if i found everything. I said nope. Another question or 2 then pointed me to the set I bought she explained the differences between models. To there surprise i said ok I need 5. A few days later they marketed the tv's down 10. One no worries 5 its $50 its worth a phone call. Before getting Melvin P on the line. He got me the sales price on the units to help keep me a Best Buy happy customer while 3 other best buy Customer services reps said I could not get it only 1 discount per recipe. Melvin P. took care of it right on the spot. Awesome

My son's room just got a major upgrade. I'm seriously impressed! We snagged this 50-inch TCL QLED for $200 on sale. The picture is crystal clear, colors pop even with the sun streaming through the window, and it handles PS5 games like a champ. The refresh rate might not be bleeding-edge, but for everyday gaming and movie marathons, it's smooth as butter. Plus, the Google TV interface is a dream – all my favorite streaming services at my fingertips, and I can even control it with my computer mouse thanks to the USB port. Sure, the screen's a little glossy, but hey, for this price? Minor quibble. Honestly, this TV is a total steal, and it's definitely brought the entertainment level in my son's room up a notch. 10/10 would recommend! Even for your living room if you are looking at 50" TVs. Still worth it off sale, but at that point if you have a bigger budget there are better TVs for a couple hundred more. At $200 you'd be crazy to miss this!

Like another reviewer we usually default to Samsung, LG or Sony. The salesman said check out this 50 inch TCL Qled Google TV, the size I was looking for. I can appreciate the bigger TV's but I don't like it to be the first thing you notice in the house. He said for the value and specs provided it really couldn't be beat. We are covered by our Total Tech umbrella service plan thru BestBuy so I thought what the heck. Glad I did. It's a really nice TV with a great picture. It's a Google TV so you just sign into your Google account and all your streaming apps go right on there. I will add a sound bar for listening to our music apps and gaming but the sound isn't bad at all if you don't use one. It has good bass and is adjustable for preference. I'm used to Samsung remotes, but I'll get the hang of this one in a short while which is user friendly. When in doubt I just push the Home button.

I got this tv on sale for $250 This is a great tv. Perfect for gaming! The QLED dispaly is really nice. The tv is easy to set up and use. I was lucky enough to get a quality product for the price I paid. I can't believe the value!. The TCL brand definitely surprised me. I think TCL is comparable to vizio in my opinion. This is awesome TV I got it on sale and it's well worth the money the picture and sound amazing. It has Dolby Atmos video and boy it is loud you don't even need to buy Soundbar for this TV. it has QLED technology that makes picture very rich Vivid and bright even during bright daylight. my son loves this TV very much. After using it for about a week we bought the 55 version of the same TV for our father as a gift! :) TCL Rocks!

Good for watching movies and playing console games. The refresh rate is fast and it feels like you are using a gaming monitor but with 4k picture quality.

Excellent TV for the price! TCL provides updates to address issues such as menu lag and I haven't had much trouble with this compared to the Insignia TV which failed in just 2 years. I have this connected to my computer, which integrates well with the video card settings.
