I bought this item based on the ease of use, capacity, and reliability. I have purchased previous Passports and this one is just as easy to use. You just plug it in to your PC and it's ready to go! The software makes it easy to back up your data. In addition, the Western Digital brand is one I can trust as my previous ones are still running strong - I just needed one with more capacity.

These are basically a standard product nowadays. 4TB is a great amount of backup storage for Time Machine use or for extended storage and back up for your needs. This product is a bit bigger in physical size than the old version as the enclosure is squared. They are also more stackable because of this and have a more modern look. Drives work great and area good price.

Ever since Sony announced the use of external drives for PS4 storage, I was looking for a big enough drive to store all those digital game downloads. I found a good brand and size that will last me for quite some time. It is also rated as one of the drives to buy for your PS4.

I have WD external drive before and running low on storage, I didn't hesitate buying this passport when it was on sale at BB. I usually store photos and videos on this external drive and never had any issue or loss data. With USB connection and portability there's no better than this. There you have it, good storage for files, photos, etc...

Good size and fair price. Needed to replace some old external drives which were still working but I was leary if then because of their age.

I have a Seagate 4 TB HD and bought this WD 4 TB HD to ensure that I never lose all my data again. Maybe overkill but once bitten, twice shy after dropping my previous WD Passport HD. I use a File Sync program to keep these 2 HDs as mirror images. One thing I notice is that the WD is a bit more noisy than the Seagate, which I don't hear working at all. Not annoying and it is the only difference that I have detected so far.

Used it to for extra storage for my xbox one. Cheaper than the official one. Easy to use, holds all my games and then some. Love it!

Works well. Good price for a 4 TB drive, I got this on sale for only a few dollars more than a 2 TB drive. This drive is nice because it has built-in hardware encryption, to keep your data secure. Also, on Windows 10 I was able to see all 4 TB available as a single drive which is nice. USB 3.0 makes this fast as well.

As a desktop support technician, I was thinking about to purchase a storage device which I can carry on my pocket or backpack. So it will be very convenient to transfer data or backup user's profile, even install some software packages. This portable HD comes with 4TB volume, but only costs close to a 3TB drive. You really can't beat the price; It is really a bargain!! To operate this device is so easy, because it is plug-and play. Even a regular user can use it without any problem. The only thing I need right now is to get a protecting case for this little guy.

Really small in size but huge on storage this device was super easy to set up has worked great with my XBOX ONE X.

Years ago, I bought a 40-gig portable drive to carry work home from the office. Before long, I replaced it with a 60, and labeled the first one "LIL," and the second one "BIG." Big was replaced with a 1Tb drive, which was replaced with a 2 Tb. I had a couple of 4Tb drives for local backup, but they required a wall wart for power. When I got a $150 credit for turning in my Note 7, I saw this 4Tb prtable drive and couldn't resist. It's been working as flawlessly as the two earlier Passports. I wonder how long it'll be before I move to a 6 or 8Tb portable?
