Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the excellent convection cooking and ease of use of this over-the-range microwave. Many appreciate its quiet operation, attractive design, and the helpful sensor cooking feature. However, some users mention concerns about the sturdiness of the door and find the control panel somewhat challenging to navigate. The microwave's weight and the keypad's functionality are also mentioned as areas needing improvement.

Door broke
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After year and a half door broke with plastic pieces falling off of inside of the door. We can not use the Microwave since keypad errors out now and Microwave is sensing that door is open even when it is closed. Whrilpool was adamant about sending a service man for just diagnosis, which most definitely cost half the price of new door for just looking at it. Door itself is half the price of the microwave (you do the math). I am baffled by the cheap parts used in this product and whirlpool is not standing behind there product. It only came with 1 year limited manufacture warranty and I guess microwave is useless after little over an year. I advice everyone to either get extended warranty from Best buy for this product or stay away from Whirlpool.

Very disappointed.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can understand why this microwave gets good reviews because the features are great but after only 2 yrs the plastic started to deteriorate and left the panel door vulnerable to moisture from cooking to enter the control panel which caused it to malfunction. We had a repair person out that said we had to replace the door which was almost as much as we paid for the it. Best Buy would not stand by this product because we didn't purchase the extended warranty so decided to purchase a whole new one that will not match the stove but won't pay for a product that doesn't last longer than 2 yrs!

Large OTR Microwave AND Convection Oven
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very large OTR unit with nice control layout across the bottom of the glass. The coking options are not displayed until you hit a button, then all the cooking options light up. Another Big consideration for me was the high volume fan. With four settings so you can get just the right amount of air flow - It will move some air on #1! Using #3 (Medium Low) works fine for collecting steam from a pot without creating too much draft. It cooks great potatoes if you follow the instructions in the owners manual. Use the "Potato" button and it will sense and cook 1 to 4 potatoes. I have used the Convection feature to cook fish sticks and tater tots. As an oven, it takes several minutes to pre-heat. The tater tots came out crispy and well cooked. The fish sticks worked ok, need to adjust the cooking time. I give it 4 stars because it took some time to get comfortable with the two controls on the far right end: Start and Cancel. Start is an arrow with "+ 30 sec." as a caption. Cancel is an X with "Control lock" as a caption. One other thing to consider is door size. Since the door is full size, I have to move out of the way when opening the door. Many microwaves have the controls on the right side beyond the door making for a shorter door.

Nice functions
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lots of functions, the convention works good, I like the streaming accessories that came with it and I actually user them. The internal mounting nuts seem like they're attached in a very flimsy manner compared to the rest of the quality details of the unit. The door seems unnecessary wide, but you'll get used to it.

Not sure I made the right choice
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure what to think...My main complaint is the control panel. There is no back lighting until you press something so you can't even see what to press unless you already have bright lights on in the kitchen. My previous microwave had the control panel always lit so you could activate the microwave even in the dark. On this brand, only the clock is always lit. Furthermore, the actual panel is totally confusing!!! It is NOT intuitive and many of the symbols/words make no sense. No instructions were included for deciphering it, so with much aggravation, we tried & errored our way to figuring out how to use this microwave. Have simple words like 'start" or "stop" gone out of fashion? I have not used the convection feature yet, so can't assess that. I will have to go on Youtube to figure out how to use that as there's very little info in the booklet. The microwave is very quiet which I like. The door is big & heavy and you have to be careful to be far enough away before opening it or you will hit yourself in the head.

The door assembly separates, pops the breaker.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The door assembly has separated and plastic pieces fall out. The display gives error messages, buttons don’t work, and it pops the breaker. I’ve found where many others have reported the same problem, and Whirlpool has told me they are aware of the problem as it has been reported by many other people. Please see the video I’ve posted to YouTube about the problem. https://youtu.be/wShAqtPBj-s

Beautiful Convection Oven
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am really enjoying out new over the stove oven. I love the design and it works really well. I ready a couple of reviews about having issues with the door but I have not encountered that problem. It's easy to use and I have to connected it to my cell phone through the app. I don't have to sit and wait for it to finish, I can walk away and will receive a notification when it's done!

Works better than any other microwave we have had.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sensor mode works very well. Everything the else works as good or better than we expected. The only negative might be the door...being full width, it takes more space to open it up. Our kitchen is not large but it's not small either, so once we got used to it, it's ok. Might be an annoyance in a confined kitchen.

Nice microwave
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned a Samsung microwave (that I really disliked) and purchased this Whirlpool to match my range. Although both appliances are Whirlpool, the clocks on the appliances are 2 different colors of blue. Ironically, the Samsung clock was closer to the range than the Whirlpool. I like that the fan isn’t terribly loud and the light is a color that matched my under cabinet lighting. I also like that I can use the timer while the microwave is cooking. Time will only tell if I have the faulty door issue others have described. All in all, I like the appliance but I am not sure it’s worth the original price. I purchased this as open box and so I feel it is great for what I paid. I also do not like the fact that fingerprints get all over the glass where the control panel is. It is hard to keep clean.

Major electrical issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had this for just over a year and have had a few weird glitches with not being able to start the microwave because it keeps telling us to close the door, but it’s already closed. We have to unplug it, reset the clock, and then cook... hopefully. Today it indicated that the light was off after pushing the button, but the light didn’t actually change settings. The fan was also on high (I turned it on while cooking), nothing was baking or cooking below, and when I pressed the button to turn it off, it wouldn’t turn off or go to a lower setting. We are just passed our 1 year warranty so there’s nothing we can do. I’m not happy as this is an expensive microwave, and we’re stuck with it. Our last GE microwave lasted 15 years without a single issue until my daughter forgot her spoon in her oatmeal bowl! I pray that there’s a recall soon so I don’t have to worry about a fire or electrical shortage.

Great microwave and awesome smart home features
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never thought I needed a smart oven until I had this installed in my kitchen. Although I had some initial challenges getting it online, once I did we've been using Alexa to set reheat settings, defrost settings, and popcorn (family favorite), so its ready when we get the food in the microwave. The popcorn setting really is better than even my previous microwave which was only 5 years old and has been able to pop our bags without burning them thanks to its sound sensor. I've also automated the microwave surface light so that it turns on when there is motion in the kitchen at night without blinding you. My only complaint would be the size of the door. It swings out quite far, which isn't too big of an issue in my kitchen, but does seem a bit unwieldy at first.

Same Door Issue, Product Design Flaw, Don't Buy
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extreme disappointment. I too have experienced the same issue with the door and product as all the other 1-star reviews. I contacted Whirlpool has they suggested in the other 1-star reviews and they do nothing to support this issue or standby the product - they also stated I would need to pay a diagnostic fee, visit fee and parts fee to address the issue. If I can help other customers it is to suggest you read these 1 star reviews and do not purchase the product. Whirlpool, if you plan to respond to this 1 star review, it should not be to simply contact you. It should how you plan to standby your product and fix the issue free of charge. Its clearly a product design failure.

Poor Design
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Microwave has a fatal flaw. The heat & moisture from the stove rises up into the door and damages the main board. After buying this 2 years ago, I'm now paying for a $300 replacement door, with a near-guarantee I'll have to replace it again or get a new microwave in a couple years.

Falling apart after 3 years.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought in March of 2018. Overall it has been a great unit until today. Door is falling apart from the inside, bits of plastic falling to the floor. Door hasn’t been closing tightly. Unit not operating. Out of warranty. Go figure. Will try and reach out to whirlpool but not holding my breath there. Spent close to $500 for less than 3 years of operation.
