Customers consistently note the excellent convection cooking and ease of use of this over-the-range microwave. Many appreciate its quiet operation, attractive design, and the helpful sensor cooking feature. However, some users mention concerns about the sturdiness of the door and find the control panel somewhat challenging to navigate. The microwave's weight and the keypad's functionality are also mentioned as areas needing improvement.

Not sure I made the right choice
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure what to think...My main complaint is the control panel. There is no back lighting until you press something so you can't even see what to press unless you already have bright lights on in the kitchen. My previous microwave had the control panel always lit so you could activate the microwave even in the dark. On this brand, only the clock is always lit. Furthermore, the actual panel is totally confusing!!! It is NOT intuitive and many of the symbols/words make no sense. No instructions were included for deciphering it, so with much aggravation, we tried & errored our way to figuring out how to use this microwave. Have simple words like 'start" or "stop" gone out of fashion? I have not used the convection feature yet, so can't assess that. I will have to go on Youtube to figure out how to use that as there's very little info in the booklet. The microwave is very quiet which I like. The door is big & heavy and you have to be careful to be far enough away before opening it or you will hit yourself in the head.

Should be a lot better for the price and tech
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The microwave is quiet. And it cooks like it should. The interior is ugly compared to other brands I was looking at. The steam and steam container don't work as good as wrapping your food in a wet paper towel. I bought this because of the internet connectivity. It is a waste to time. The app so far has not been able to identify any food I have scanned. Asking google to turn the fan on and off is ok, but not worth the extra money. I think there is a version of this microwave without internet. The UI is not the easiest to navigate. The stainless may be fingerprint proof, but the glass and button area is not.

Nice design, a little heavier than most
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The design is sleek, stylish, easy to clean, and the wifi/blue tooth setup was user-friendly. The cooking, defrosting, and reheating features all operated well. The item is quite heavy and the “specialty” menu buttons are only illuminated when pressed. The app (IOS) does not allow for the adjustment of the fan, light brightness, or off modes

Meh
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s ok. Paid too much. The Wi-Fi feature is a gimmick and not very useful for me. Microwave power is weaker than my old countertop model. Convection over is pretty much useless. Takes forever to come up to temp and when you load your food it takes forever again to get back up to temp. It’s HUGE. I mounted correctly and it sticks out a good inch from my standard cabinets. Hangs a bit below cabinets too but still has more than the recommended distance to the range top. Measured and measured again. My gripe - the unit gets super hot from the range. plastic on the bottom edge of the front cracked from heat cycling from the range. When it gets REALLY hot from the range, the exhaust fan kicks on stupid high and stats on for stupid long. I do make a habit to run the fan on low when I use my range, but kids don’t always remember. ... hence the cracked plastic

User interface could use a redesign.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Interface has too many steps to do simple tasks including use of convection oven. Interent connection is worthless only turns microwave on from remote location. Fingerprint resistant only applies to stanless steel outer edge not glass keyboard which are the main controls you touch the most!

Not a good machine
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks aren't everything. I use this oven at least twice a day. It takes longer to boil water for tea than my $88 Oster countertop microwave. The convection baking is so uneven that I leave the rear-left corner of whatever I'm baking empty. Otherwise it would burn before the rest of the pan or tray was finished baking. Finally, the real deal-killer. I have to press 11 buttons to set the time and temperature every time I use the convection function. And most o the buttons don't light up so you must have the kitchen lights on in order to operate it at night One more thing: last week, after less than 13 months of ownership and less than a full year of use, the convection function stopped working. the fan doesn't turn and the element doesn't heat up and glow. It could be a faulty thermostat, a $22 part, but it looks like a couple of hours to fix it, based on the RepairClinic video, because there are so very many screws to remove and replace. I've been an adult with my own appliances for many many years. I can't think of any that have crudded out other than this one and a similar Frigidaire microwave-convection that blew a wire, not a fuse, and stopped working entirely. My next purchase will be an LG. Meanwhile, I've learned that a bread machine can bake lasagna and meatloaf just fine. The little Oster with its "grill" feature took over the baking of biscuits and cookies.

Not as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This combo microwave convection takes longer for everything to heat or cook. The Pizza setting asks how many slices. Even though I lie by twice the amount and it’s still not done. I increased the heat settings and still no good. It has WiFi but I still have not been able to connect it to my home WiFi. I’ve done that with other items such as a thermostat and it’s a huge asset. If it works. The door is very heavy which has me concerned about the long term. The black stainless steel is not so stainless and has fingerprints all over it. Whirlpool was highly rated but watch out for the pitfalls.

Whirlpool Microwave
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good looking, easy to clean, convection works good. The microwave doesn’t cook evenly and we are trying to determine why. Put two slices of bacon in and one comes out crisp and the other does not(?)

It's a microwave
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven't used many features yet, but the door swings much wider than the previous unit. I never had to duck when I opened the old one, but I have to be careful now. Food prep is done to the left of the unit. Probably if it opened the other way, there would be no problem. Also, controls aren't obvious, a little lazy about hunting down the details.

Broke after 18 months
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Broke after 18 months -fortunately I purchased the replacement plan and BestBuy replaced it. Unit it broke, it was great though. I don't know if I had a lemon, or if this is a wider issue -hence 3 stars to be fair.

Doesn'tBSKE well as a GE Profile
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had a GE Profile for years and my wife used to do baking with no problems. This Whirlpool product looks nice but overcooks one end and undercooks the other, my wife is not happy.

Fingerprint resistant??
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the way it works,, I love the settings,, I don't like that the glass has to be cleaned every time I use it. It is definitely not fingerprint resistant.

Good but Buggy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I in general love Whirlpool products, but this one leaves a little to be desired. Pros: Extremely good exhaust fan flow (vented outside) and good convection oven (comes in handy around the holidays. The door on the other hand is the con. After just a few months, the door will close and the microwave will not reset, resulting in having to unplug, and reprogram clocks. sometimes we continue to get the warning to open, then close the door, butthis does not always work. You just get caught in a loop of setting the cook time, and closing door to find you have to open, then close the door again and again. I think it is a sensor problem in the door itself. Also was not able to set-up Wi-Fi even after calling the unhelpful whirlpool help line. Finally, the unit stopped working and the door will not close and latch. upon inspection the latch mechanism on the case that the door latch goes into is now missing and presumably inside the unit somewhere. I am waiting to have this fixed at my own expense as it is out of warranty.

Pretty nice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall pleased with the microwave. The sensor reheat typically takes either 3 or 6 minutes, depending on size. Pretty slow but works well. Once butter exploded on the melt butter setting and made a huge mess. The convection fan is very loud and the 2nd time I used it would not turn off when finished. Had to open door to stop. Other than these issues have been happy with microwave.

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disappointed in this microwave! Extremely expensive - not very well made. The clips have broken out from the bottom of the door and when you use the stove it causes the circuit board to short out. Several people have posted this same complaint on different sites. So to repair you have to purchase a whole new door at 300.00.
