The Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch Fingerprint with Wi-Fi is a feature-packed smart lock that brings convenience and security to your doorstep. As someone who values both ease of access and peace of mind, I've been thoroughly impressed with this smart lock.
Design and Build:
The Yale Assure Lock 2 boasts a sleek and modern design that seamlessly blends with any door. The black touchscreen and brushed metal accents give it an elegant look. Installation was straightforward, and it easily replaced my existing deadbolt. The build quality feels robust, assuring me of its durability.
Fingerprint Sensor:
The touch fingerprint sensor is one of the standout features of this lock. Setting up fingerprints was a breeze, and the recognition accuracy is commendable. It provides quick and hassle-free access for family members and authorized guests, eliminating the need for physical keys.
Wi-Fi Connectivity:
The addition of Wi-Fi connectivity is a game-changer. With the Yale Access app, I can lock and unlock my door remotely, receive real-time notifications, and manage access codes from anywhere. The Wi-Fi integration also enables voice control through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, enhancing its overall smart home compatibility.
Keypad:
In addition to fingerprints, the keypad is a convenient way to enter your home. You can create unique PIN codes for family members and guests, and it's backlit for easy use in low-light conditions.
Security Features:
Yale is known for its commitment to security, and this lock is no exception. It features advanced encryption and tamper alarms, providing peace of mind that your home is well-protected. The auto-lock feature can be customized to lock the door after a specified time, adding an extra layer of security.
Battery Life:
The lock is powered by four AA batteries, and I've been pleasantly surprised by how long they last. Even with frequent use, the batteries have held up well, and the lock sends low-battery alerts to the app in advance.
User-Friendly App:
The Yale Access app is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to manage access and monitor lock activity. It offers a clear log of who entered or exited your home and when.
Room for Improvement:
While the Yale Assure Lock 2 is an impressive smart lock, there is always room for improvement. The price may be a bit steep for some, especially when considering the cost of additional Wi-Fi bridge devices for remote access.
Conclusion:
The Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch Fingerprint with Wi-Fi is a solid choice for those looking to upgrade their home security and smart home ecosystem. Its combination of fingerprint recognition, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a user-friendly app makes it a standout in the market. While the initial investment might be a consideration, the peace of mind and convenience it provides are well worth it for those who prioritize security and smart home integration. Overall, I highly recommend the Yale Assure Lock 2 to anyone looking to enhance their home access control.

I’ve had this installed for 2 months and I like it so far. It’s very convenient for my kids to not have to carry a key and giving friends or family access when I’m not there.
Installing was very straightforward with simple tools and a smart phone.
Some issues- I find my youngest child’s fingerprint is not always recognized. That age is also least likely to remember a code. I had to change the 4 AA batteries after 2 months of use, but it does give you plenty of warning to replace them. I find I need to re-calibrate the “door sense” every few weeks or the auto lock feature does not work. It doesn’t affect the other aspects of the lock.
I would recommend this lock. I plan to purchase another - possibly the key free version for another door in the future.

This is my first smart lock. Since I'm an Android user that uses Galaxy and Google products, this made the most sense to get this product. It gives you multiple options getting in via fingerprint, pin, and a physical key (make a copy if I were you).
You can monitor the lock at home by accessing a third party app called Yale Access, and it get be specific on who's opening the door once you give them a pin to open it.
Lastly, the deadbolt is the STRONGEST I've ever installed in a door. Comparatively to the old door knob I have, this is a massive improvement. Also, the door adjuring is highly intelligent and will recognize when to lock. A must-get if you're like me making your house into a smart home.
Fyi, before I forget, the little white thing is a sensor that allows the lock to know when the door is open, so installation might take some time if you aren't patient, but it's very easy if you ever installed a door lock before

tl;dr it’s fancy and far better than a traditional lock, but the batteries hardly last 2 months (Duracell Optimum), the fingerprint reader is too finicky, and the lock status is incorrect too often (locked v unlocked).
After months of research and video reviews, I finally decided on a smart lock. This thing is nice, y’all. High quality construction, easy to install all the components, and the app walks you through all the steps. I got the Bluetooth connected right away, easy enough to pair with my WiFi, and went through the slightly lengthy fingerprint setup. The three users in my house with registered fingerprints have never been able to get it to unlock with prints.
This lock has some great features like auto-lock after a set time, auto-unlock at set times, Bluetooth proximity unlock, WiFi control from anywhere, guest access, and more. Feature packed! Calibrating the lock wasn’t too bad, but you have to follow all the instructions and know how the door lines up and such. Nbd.
After a month it started to get wonky. I would come home, the app would notify me it was unlocking the door based on the set geofence and Bluetooth proximity, but nothing happened with the lock. Checked the app, it says “unlocked.” Checked the door, still firmly locked. Had to “lock” and the unlock the door via the app to get in. That was 4 out of 7 days a week. Fingerprint never would read properly. PIN worked fine, but why pay $300 for a lock that generally only works with the PIN or the Bluetooth connection? Came home one day after 2 months of regular, daily use and the door wouldn’t unlock. Instead, it responded with a red settings cog wheel and sounded like R2-D2 crying. Checked the app, no connection. Used the physical key to get in; dead batteries. 4 Duracell Optimum AA’s dead, that’s $10+ worth of batteries. 6 times a year (2-month lifespan) is $60 in batteries a year on top of the $300 for the lock itself. Is the convenience worth that cost? It also would have been nice to know the batteries were dying. I have push notifications and email alerts setup. I get the notifications that the door was left open, or the deadbolt didn’t fully extend (though that scenario only occurred once), but got NOTHING regarding the battery status. Fail.
So it really is a nice, well-made lock and all. But, I do feel like I could have gone with a competitor’s brand, spent less, and still gotten a good smart lock. You can’t win ‘em all I guess.

I really had high hopes for this lock after reading the reviews but I am disappointed. First off this is my 2nd lock in 30 days. I installed the first one and the same day it stopped working. I contacted Yale and they did a remote test and told me it is not receiving any signals and is defective. Took it back to Best Buy and bought another one and installed that. I have been using this lock for exactly 30 days today and every single day it has lost wifi connection- no exaggeration. Currently I am unable to see the lock in the Yale app because yesterday morning it lost wifi connection and it never connected again. This defeats the purpose of a smart lock. It is marketed as "you are able to control the lock from anywhere for security and peace of mind" that is inaccurate because when the lock stops connecting to wifi and is running off bluetooth, you cannot see any lock activity in the app. So if I am traveling I have no clue who is coming into and out of the house, when the door is opening and closing, the status of the door- NOTHING! And as far as my wi-fi goes, my internet connection is top notch. I have tried this lock on the standard internet and just a few days ago we got a super fast fiber internet installed and even on that Wi-Fi it has lost connections multiple times. I have attached a picture of what I see which shows you cannot see anything on the app when it is not connected to Wi-Fi. Considering this lock is over $200, I am extremely dissatisfied with this product. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Awesome product! I have upgraded from the August Lock the one that looks like a ball. This one takes AA batteries which is better than the CR123A batteries. Only downside is I wish they gave a second key as you do have to change out your whole deadbolt assembly so it’s a completely new key to the lock and door.

I never wrote any review for best buy product, but this time, as senior user of smart lock, I want to share my experience to everyone to step away from this smart lock.
This product has outstanding design, fingerprint is easy to use, key pad is super good, Wi-Fi module has can be easy connected to Wi-Fi network, setup is easy. App experience is not perfect, but its acceptable. HOWEVER, battery issue reverse all goods points of this product, and will put your life into terrible level.
In smart lock industry, the most important problem all manufacture need to solve is battery for Wi-Fi smart lock, you may need to change battery every two or three weeks for this lock. When battery is low, there is reminder in app, but no any push notification to remind you to change battery. Then, battery level is further lower, red alarm at the left corner will on with special sound, you must change battery immediately because it only can be used for three times or four times after first reminder. Don’t consider you will be lucky one when you come back home, you will have high chance to lock yourselves out of your home.
To use this lock, you need have enough knowledge for super short notice of low battery, all your family members, kids, friends or delivery people need to know this golden rules to change battery immediately after first alert. Otherwise you could be locked outside your home by other people and frequently need lock smith service. If you are property manager or Airbnb operator, it would be nightmare for you, we bought 16 Yale - Assure Lock 2 for apartment units, 5 group of my tenant were locked outside their home. Even I bought rechargeable Li-Battery, I still cannot to make sure all people know the rule, follow the rule.
To Yale company, your competitor has 3 days for low batter reminder when you have 3 times. If you cannot improve your battery solution, this product is not ready to release in the market. This is unacceptable smart lock solution.

Easy to install, no problems yet with the battery life. Love the different features and ways to unlock, with a physical key backup possible in case the battery does die. Giving visitors and guests access via their own code has been a breeze.

Life changing purchase. I can have friends and family come check on my house and pets when I am not home. It also allows me a quicker/easier way to enter my home. During the install, make sure the deadbolt is able open and close without any friction. My lock was losing battery quick until I realized it was utilizing more battery due the door frame pressing up on the deadbolt. Great product. I took off a star because I had to recalibrate it once due to unknown reasons.

Very happy with the Yale Assure keyless door entry. Don't have to dig for the house keys anymore nor do our friends and family have to keep track of our extra keys. Step by step install and use instructions are great. Was intimidated at first but it was way easier than I had anticipated. I would suggest using a shorter code so that entry is quicker. Any questions I've had on the Yale Assure lock, I just Google that question and it's immediately answered. Highly recommend this product.

I purchased two of the Yale - Assure 2 Touchscreen Smart Locks with Fingerprint access during the Black Friday sales. These locks were replacentment for my manual garage and front entry door deadbolts. I really like the automatic lock and unlock feature. The fingerprint access can be a bit temperamental at times, requiring more than one try, if used. I don’t know about the battery life yet, but I assume the most used entry way will deplete the batteries quicker. Altogether, I’m happy with my purchase.

This is the most convenient door lock I've ever had, and the function of when I come home and the door automatically opens is my love, especially when my hands are busy

Very convenient. I locked myself out of my house and was able to get with no issue or unexpected fees for a locksmith. It’s also sleek and stylish, and it goes well with my Brush Nickel door handle.

Love this product. Installed on an exterior bathroom door. Guests can go in without traipsing through the house. Finger print works perfectly. App also notifies me who has entered and whether they used their finger print or code. No need for a key. (unless internet goes out) I think it has Bluetooth as well.
Be sure to read through the directions first.

Freedom from keys! Works perfectly and smoothly every single time. No failed attempts. Many features to personalize for pet sisters, etc. I programmed the fingerprints. Easy-to-use and install. Great price and well known lock company. Highly recommend.

Decent smart lock, but took some work to get the door sensor to work. The door sensor just wouldn't register with the lock until it was physically mounted into the door frame. Other than that, setup was fairly easy, and luckily installation of the lock itself was pretty easy. I would recommend this lock if you have a standard door size.
