Q: Proofing
A: Thanks for the question. The NE597N0PBSR does have a Proof mode which maintains a warm environment useful for rising yeast-leavened products. The exact temperature of the Proof setting is not available, though if the oven temperature is above 100°F, it will need to cool down before this mode can be activated. - Ms. Samsung
A: From the User's Manual, page 28 Cooking zones Minimum diameter of the bottom of the cookware 1) 5 "/ 145 mm 2) 7.5 "/ 190 mm 3) 6 "/ 160 mm 4) Size to occupy more than 60% of the Flexcook zone (I'm not home to measure it, but I believe each of the squares is about 8"x8" giving you 8"x16" when using both.) You can use just one square at a time controlled individually or use both together controlled as one large burner. For any of the elements, it only heats the amount of space covered by the pan. So if you put say a round 8" diameter pan on one of the square flex elements, only the round area the pan is covering would get hot.
Q: How many settings does each burner have?
A: They increment by half with the settings Simmer, Lo, 1.5, 2.........9.0, Hi. So that makes 18 levels plus Boost (super hi). From the User's Manual, page 30 Setting Cooking method Examples for Use 8-Hi Intensive Frying Boiling Rapid boiling Deep frozen foods 6-8 Frying Stewing Boiling Pancakes, Steak, Cutlet. Grilled meat Clear soup Pasta cooking 4-6 Frying Stewing Boiling Egg, fried Thick soup, sauce and gravies Slow boiling rice and milk dishes Potato cooking 2-4 Poaching Defrosting Soft vegetable cooking Defrosting frozen vegetable Lo-2 Melting Warming Melting chocolate and butter dissolving gelatin simmer keep warm
A: Yes, the entire cook top is induction.
Q: Where are controls to adjust temperature on stove top?
A: Both the cooktop and the oven controls on the NE597N0PBSR are located on the back splash, which enables the increased size and flexibility in the layout of the cooking zones. See the attached image from page 21 of the user manual which shows the full control panel as it appears on the back splash. The user manual can be downloaded as a pdf file from Samsung's website for your reference. Thank you for your interest, Ms. Samsung
Q: small tea pot bottom - where to place it?
A: Thanks for the question. You should be able to use the 6" or 7" induction elements for your tea pot and comparably sized cookware, as long as it is made from appropriate magnetic materials. To use the larger 11" element, the pan would need to occupy at least 60% of the area within the circle. - Ms. Samsung
Q: Nothing works on my stove while it's plugged up
