A: Yes. This hard drive is compatible with any laptop that takes a 2.5 inch hard drive. Use Macrium Reflect to clone your old hard drive then swap and boot from new hard drive. You will need a USB to 2.5 inch hard drive connector cable to complete the clone, they sell them on ebay. Also you will need to expand the unallocated(unused) memory to have a 4tb hard drive after booting from 4tb hard drive. Right click on my computer then manage then select disk management then right click the section to the left of the unallocated memory and select expand. Walla 4tb hard drive, well maybe a little less 3.93tb as some is taken for memory purposes.

A: I didnt measure it when i put it in-but i can tell you it is the SAME size as the 2t samsung same type,ifn fact both fit together on "deck"insert in one slot with enough space in between for air room....i just checked SPECS ON SAMSUNG SITE SAY 6.8 for 1,2, 4 t drives

A: This will work with Windows. I have Windows 10 and it works great.
Q: Can this drive work in a 2012 MacBook pro?
A: No. This is formatted for a desktop and for Windows. It will not work with the MAC OS. It is not designed to fit inside a laptop and is too big.
A: It can be used as an internal or external usb drive. You just need a SATA cable or connection.
