120GB isn't a lot of storage, but if you use cloud services or external hard drives to store all your data and just load your operating system and other crucial software onto the SSD, this little drive is really a steal. The product description is misleading though.. This is a 2.5 form factor drive, the size used in nearly all laptops, but with an inexpensive adapter it can easily be installed in a 3.5 bay of any desktop computer, so it's not just for laptops. I wound up purchasing two of these. Installed one in my MacBook Pro and one in my PC Desktop and I've been enjoying them both. I do recommend external hard drives or NAS (network attached storage) though. Also, don't bother with the Insignia SATA III cable, it doesn't fit any modern drive. Get your cable elsewhere!

I was playing 2 games, World of Warcraft and Arch Age, the latest version of WoW has an issue with loading, it was taking FOREVER to load every screen, Archage uses a cache read/write system constantly when playing making the hard drive a huge bottleneck when playing. In BOTH cases, moving the games to this SSD (yes, they both fit, I am proof of that) the all around performance and load times improved, especially in Archage where the in game slowdowns almost stopped completely and load times in WoW went from sometimes 2 or 3 minutes to never more then 20 seconds. I highly recommend an SSD if you see a slow down that seems to happen only when your traditional hard drive is revving up like a stock car ready for the green light at Daytona.

I had a 5 year old laptop that originally came with Windows 7 installed on a 500GB standard HDD (non-SSD). I replaced this old HDD with the SanDisk one and installed Windows 10. This 1-2 punch of upgrades really breathed new life into an old machine. If you haven't considered getting an SSD drive to upgrade your machine, you should. To do so relatively cheaply you could consider getting a 128GB size drive (such as the one I am reviewing). This is usually more than enough storage for day-to-day requirements of most machines. However, you will probably need a secondary form of backup/storage because those 128GBs will fill up fast with photos, videos, and games.

I bought this drive to upgrade my customer’s laptop. A simple refresh of Windows 10 help speed things up, but the upgrade to the Sandisk SSD made all the difference in the world. The customer was ecstatic. Each time I speak to him, he mentions how fast his “new” computer is running. Don’t be obsessed by slight technical differences in read/write times among different brands. As a human being, you won’t perceive any difference in performance. As a computer repair technician, I highly recommend upgrading your laptop or desktop with a solid-state drive. It is a great return on a fairly small investment.

I repair computers and this solid state drive is very reliable in putting a significant boost to your computer so is your computer running slow instead of getting more ram or whatever start swapping out your hard drive is a big boost usually in macs the booting time running a regular hard drive fluctuates between 22 to 37 seconds with just this SSD drive goes from 8 to 12 seconds in booting time so thats a lot plus you get more battery life since it doesn't have mechanical parts it saves battery so definitely a must have awesome brand one of my favorite.

This was a great deal, not only did I save over $20 over other retailers this drive performs very well. I read the specs and compared it to other 120 GB drives and it could not be beat for the low cost. I used it to replace a standard 3.5 HD, the PC was being used in a small business doing Auto Cad and the user does not save any files to the HD, so this drive was perfect fit. The performance over standard 3.5" HD @ 7200rpm was huge. The user said it was like having a new PC with faster CPU. Boot speed when form over 20 sec to 7/10 sec, apps opened instantly.

I needed to replace a failing hard drive in a laptop that originally had a 500MB standard (spinning) hard disk. I knew there was plenty of unused space on the original drive, so bought this one to replace it. Computer boots faster (about 75% faster) and is quieter (no spinning disk inside). Downfall - this drive did not come with a utility to transfer the data over. I ended up using EaseUS (only the free version) to duplicate and re-size the partition and it worked well. (Finding a free solution took longer than the actual duplication, but it was well worth it.)

Gone are the days of 3 minute boots! If you have SATA ports on your box, buy the SSD for your Windows 10 (or other OS) and at least another conventional drive for all the data until the SSD prices fall a little bit more. Then maybe another equal size drive to mirror your data for protection. Time will tell if this SSD with its price point is a winner, but for now it's doing just fine. If it does fail, buy another and clone the new one with your back up of the old one. Your data files are untouched AND backed up on the conventional drives.
