Q: How does this mount to the dashboard?
A: Peel and stick foam adhesive pad on base. Cab be installed once, base disintegrates when removed. Residue can be rubbed off but will take some rubbing to remove all evidence of adhesive if you have to return a leased or rental car.
Q: Is it easy to remove from the dashboard?
A: No, it is permanently fixed, and if you remove it, the foam mount rips apart and it is done. I bought it for a rental car that i had for waze on my iphone (had a long drive from LA to San Diego and needed to see screen for directions). Did the job, and was a bear removing the residue frrom dash, but it held it rock solid.
