Q: can this be used as a external Harddrive on Dish Hopper so I can use DVR and record movies TY
A: I don't know and did not look into what a Dish Hopper is but I use these drives on "converter boxes" with brand names such a HomeWorx, IView, Mediasonic, (Aluratek is available from Best Buy but have not used this brand) that not only allow recording and queuing of over the air broadcasts (maybe some unencrypted cable, but I have never used these boxes for this) but also allow playing music, pictures and movies (most formats e.g. mp4, wmv, VOB {dvd video format}). I love these boxes and 2TB is the maximum size these boxes handles (last I checked).
Q: Does it hold your photos forever, or do you need to replace it in a few years before they disappear?

A: I don't own a ps5 but if the ps5 has a USB port then it will work on that unit as well as an xbox or your computer.
Q: Hi Is this compatible with Mac OS?
A: Yes. I got it to use with my MacBook Air.
Q: Is this compatible with Windows 7?
A: Yes! Without researching I know Win 7 can handle drives much large than 2TB.
Q: How do I transfer the files from my Seagate external drive to my new computer?
A: I'm not very tech savvy but I would create a folder titled SEAGATE on the desktop of the new computer. Then within that folder I would create other folders with specific titles to try to help me stay more organized. Then I would open the Seagate drive and then drag and drop whatever files I needed into the proper folders I created. I have a Passport that I use to store all of my music and this is the method I use when I transfer onto any new computers I get. I hop this helps.
