A: If you have collision detection on, the camera will sense the collision and automatically begin emergency recording. These videos are as long as they need to be and are saved in a separate file.
Q: CAN THIS DASH CAM WORK WHEN THE CAR IF OFF
A: If you have it connected to constant 12 volt power when the vehicles ignition is turned off and keys removed it will continue to stay on and record. My camera has been on and recording since I bought it over a year ago. You can turn it off manually, unplug it when you want it to shut off, or plug it into a 12 volt power source that shuts off when the vehicle is turned off and keys removed

A: It's not infra red, but works very well at night. You should be able to see the distance of your high beams at least.
Q: Can these be placed in the rear of a vehicle?
A: Yes, this could be mounted in the rear window of a vehicle. The camera is stationary, has night vision, does not have cloud access or remote operation features and contains a 4x digital zoom. Also, it does not record audio and recording time will depend on the size of the SD card used.
