Q: What is the difference between the M21d-H8 and the M21d-H8R?
A: To clarify the answer by the expert, the M21d-H8R includes the "Display Remote" with a LED Display that shows selected settings, but the keys themselves are not back lit.
A: It has speakers facing forwards and upwards as well as the downward facing subwoofers. I can confirm that it does sound good laying flat as well as wall mounted, but just make sure if it's wall mounted that the side labeled up is pointing up and if it's laying flat that the long side that has the opening is facing towards the tv / away from the viewer.
A: There is a DTS TruVolume setting that is supposed to do this. From the manual: Press the TVOL button to enable/disable TruVolume. When ON, TruVolume provides a consistent and comfortable volume level for a more enjoyable listening experience.
A: Answering my own question here. After seeing no on-line complaints about this I decided to take a chance and try it out by drilling holes to wall mount the unit, and the answer is "YES!" . The sound bar somehow recognizes it is wall mounted and swaps the audio channels to keep right and left channels on the correct sides. Very smart design.

A: Yes you can use optical. This sound bar is the best I ever had. I got it because I purchased my first smart tv. The bar comes with every cable you’ll need to hook it up in different ways. I have mine hooked up using HMDI ARC which is the best in my opinion. If you purchase this sound bar you won’t have to buy any cables whatsoever.
Q: Would I be able to use this with a desktop PC too? Or just a TV?
A: You can connect it to a PC if you have the right connections on it. It accepts HDMI In, Optical audio, Or AUX (headphone jack cable).
