A: Supply and demand. The demand for GPUs is crazy high due to mining, I got this card back in Nov for sub $300 at bby. Was worth the price then, but now you're better off with a 1080 for gaming.
A: I own a XFX RX-580P8DBRR and the XFX RX-480P8DFA6. My pc is a dual boot win8.1Pro64bit/ Win10Pro64bit. I have installed both cards and they ran crossfire mode no problem. Naturally my rx-580 dialed back its speed to match the slower rx-480, but that is by design. AMD crossfire operates through the drivers for the card/pci-e slots.
A: AMD Crossfire functions through the AMD graphics drivers/ pci-e slots. There is not a physical bridge/tabs by design.
A: Figure about 150watts per GPU and maybe 50 for the MoBo and SSD. Also, depends on the rating of your PS e.g. gold, silver, platinum. Try not to hit more than 80-85% of your total PS rating or you could start seeing some issues. You can always get another PS and a “Add2PSU” adapter if what you have now is only a 500/600w PS.
Q: Recommended power supply for this and is it 6pin or 8
A: You will need a psu that has a 6-pin and an 8-pin plug. My XFX RX-580P8DBRR has an 6-pin & an 8-pin. My evga 850watt psu powers my pc fine and strong. As for power supply the XFX product page for the card states: "Requirements External Power - 8-pins 1 External Power - 6-pins 1 Minimum Power Supply Requirement 500 watt XFX Recommended Power Supply XFX 550W PSU" My personal crossfire dual win8/win10 boot PC: Power Supply: EVGA 850 gold (EVGA 220-GS-0850-V1 80 PLUS GOLD) Graphics Cards: XFX RX-580P8DBRR 8gb as primary; crossfired with XFX RX-480P8DFA6 8GB as secondary Graphics driver installed in win8 and win10 are: Adrenalin-Edition-18.1.1-Jan4 Alpha Cpu is AMD Vishera FX-8320 System ram is 16gb; two 8gb sticks Patriot Viper III ddr3-2133 PV316G213C1K
Q: What type of memory are in these cards?
A: Per gpu-z my XFX RX-580 (Model: RX-580P8DBRR SKU: 5859900 has Hynix GDDR5 memory. ******************* Note: There are NO AMD windows8/8.1 RX-580 graphics drivers currently; and AMD has totally abandoned the windows8/8.1 operating system. The drivers disk that XFX provides does not contain windows8/8.1 drivers.
Q: Will this card be combat able with a 8.1 game minimum needed
A: AMD has abandoned developing graphics card drivers for windows8/8.1 operating system. RX-580 graphics card drivers for windows8/8.1 do not exist. You will not be able to game on windows8/8.1 with the rx-580.
Q: When do you expect to get the next shipment in. I really want one of these cards.
A: The rx 470,480,570,and 580 are all going to be hard to find people are buying them by the dozen right now for ethereum mining. Ebay has them going for double the cost
