Product Manuals

Q: Does this receiver have the ability to turn on an auxiliary fan when powered on. Is there a powered port, either USB, AC or DC?

A: The answer to your question is yes & no. There is a +12 volt DC “Trigger Out” port in the upper left of the back panel, however it will only allow a 0.1 amp load max. Since your cooling fan draws a lot more, you could not drive the fan directly, but you could use that signal to activate the coil of a 12v relay to carry the current load across it’s contacts to supply the 120v to the fan (if you feel ok wiring this up yourself). Maybe someone makes a device that uses the trigger to activate a 120v outlet. There is an outlet strip that you can plug your unit into, and once it turns on, and the strip sees that load, it turns on the other outlets on the strip. I Googled “Load activated outlet strip” and found a few, (Smart Strip LCG-3MVR 10-Outlet Adjustable Threshold Surge Protector with Autoswitching) Run it past the Best Buy team maybe they can help you. In the years past there was a plug in the back of most receivers and tuners that supplied 120v when the unit was turned on. It would be nice if they brought that back.

Q: Can I play speakers on the back yard as zone 2, without sound in zone 1 and vice-versa (play sound in living room zone 1, without playing sound on zone 2).

A: Yes, you can play each of the zones together or separate with one on and one off, but you can’t play Something different on each of the zone at same time. Hope that helps answer your question.

Q: Does this unit come with a printed User Manual? I find those online ones are not very easy to use.

A: I ended up purchasing this receiver. To answer my own question, no it does not come with a printed manual. Only a printed Quick Start Guide. The full manual is only available as a .pdf download.

Q: Does this receiver support connecting a SACD player via HDMI?

A: Yes, the 5.1 audio from the SACD player via HDMI would be decoded by the receiver and play back properly.

Q: Will it connect to a Bluetooth headset for private listening?

A: Yes, this item can connect to a Bluetooth headset for private listening.

Q: Does the receiver have a HD FM Radio tuner?

A: No, it does not. Looks like HD radio info tagging is dying. It does have "Internet Radio" where you can input a URL for your favorite raio station streaming via the net and experience HD radio like info in this manner.
