A: In taking a deep drive into these two TVs, the main differences I see are: - Better "angel viewing" for the Bravia 9 (they are about equal at "center viewing"), - Slightly better blacks & contrast (but once you have the Bravia 7 in your home you will not be able to tell/remember the difference since the Bravia 7 has such a great picture), - Slightly better sound/speakers in the Bravia 9, if not using your own surround sound system (I use my own surround sound system which brings sound to the best level), - A backlit remote for the Bravia 9 (nice to have), - Perhaps a few extra for "gamers", which I am not I am sure there are a few other small value extras that majority of the people won't use. I would assign a dollar value difference between the Bravia 7 & Bravia 9 at no more than $300 - $400 (an amount that I would be willing to pay for the Bravia 9 over the Bravia 7). But at $1,100 or more in differences (depending on the screen size you are considering), the Bravia 7 wins that completion every time. BTW - I have heard some criticisms about the Bravia 9 that some people find it harder to adjust their picture settings to get to an optimal picture quality for most programing they watch. While the Bravia 7 out-of-the-box settings are pretty much plug & play.

Sony’s Bravia 9 or XR90. My main tv which I just replaced with this model was the Sony KDS-R60XBR1 60" Grand Wega 1080p rear-projection TV from 2004 (I also have a Sony XBR9-55 inch). Back in the day that thing was a beast. It had side by side screen AND picture in picture. The sound from that TV’s speakers was also awesome. It was the brightest tv (LCD) that I had seen, and it still works to this day. I had to move on and up because Sony quit supporting the bulbs made for it years ago and 3rd party bulbs are terrible. Technology has gotten better but I couldn't beat 20 years with a television. Let me say something I don’t see a lot of people mentioning and that is know what you need for your viewing environment. I need a bright tv because I have a bright room. If you have a dark or dim light room, then get an OLED. The debate back and forth about which kind of tv is better than another is ridiculous. Look at all the specs and reviews to help you decide. Yes, I’m going to say the same thing that everyone else has said……This tv is bright! That’s what hits you in the face first but, it’s the rich contrast, colors, and black levels together that makes this tv exceptional. The sound from the tv speakers is the best with digital encoded media (movies, music) but you have to play around with the EQ. Standard video mode Is the best for general tv watching but I prefer professional mode for everything else and again you need to play around with the settings to get the most for what you want. Movies, shows, and sports look great in any lighting. I remember reading a person’s review on being dissatisfied with near or direct sunlight blooming and the glare (although it has anti-glare technology) making it unwatchable. I don’t know what tv would stop that, however, I would say depending on the angle in which light does come into your room it does make a difference on viewing things that are dark (see picture) because you can see the color panels. My PS4 looks pretty good although I don’t game a lot on this tv right now (I use the other Sony for that) it’s probably not as good visually as the PS5 but works well for my needs. So, to wrap it up. Know what you need for your viewing room (dark room oled and a bright room mini led). If cost is a factor, then this may not be the answer and believe me I understand. Right now, this is the best option of getting oled like blacks with exceptional contrast and colors for a bright room. The quality of the packaging and materials it's made of are second to none and I didn’t expect anything less from a company like Sony. I’m lookingforward to this tv lasting at least close to what I got out of it's grandfather in the lcd that I retired.

I purchased the B9 before Best Buy even had stock but they brought it to my home and installed it since i didnt have a vehicle large enough to carry a 75 inch monster. When i first turned it on it was like a huge light had been flipped on. My gosh, you certainly don’t have to worry about the brightness of this television. I am coming from a LGOLED that only gave me three years of service before the panel started flaking out and showing visible lines vertically and horizontally throughout the panel. I added the B9 soundbar, the largest subwoofer and the larger rear surround speakers for full sound effects. Watching normal television the rear speakers are real quiet. I guess TV isnt the right content for spectacular sound but when watching the correct encoded content it will light up my room big time with phenomenal sound. Overall, i love this mini LED TV and sound system. The remote doesn’t seem to hold a charge well but i will continue to monitor it in case i need a replacement. I purchased extra warranty. Im telling you, i cant tell a difference between this mini led vs. OLED, its that good. I paid 3999.00 but within a week the price dropped 500.00 and due to Best Buys price guarantee i went back to the store a got my 500.00 plus tax refunded. So for 3495.00 i was tickled to death. It almost paid for my rear surround speakers. Enough said, just go purchase a Bravia 9 and you’ll be blown away like myself. Im 100% pleased and a huge thanks to the geeks.
