A real bulb replacement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these lights. I've been gradually replacing all of the incandescents in my house with these. They are as bright or maybe just a little brighter than the 40 watt reveal bulbs they are replacing and they run much cooler (especially important during the summer months in Georgia). The have a very natural daylight color (unlike some others that have a greenish tint). I was concerned about the evenness of the light output due to the heat sinks casting shadows, but this is only a problem within about 6 inches of the bulb. After that there are no shadows. My only gripe is a very faint hum, which is sligtly louder when partially dimmed. If there is any other noise nearby, you cannot hear it - the fan in the air conditioning, the refrigerator, even the TV box are all louder.

Great Light Bulb
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased these bulbs to replace some incandescent light bulbs we had on a dimmer. The just kept burning out and heated up the master bath. These are are great, dim-able bulbs, although they don't dim as much as the incandescent bulbs. Still they don't blind you or your mate at 4am. They are enough to see but not overpowering on the lowest setting. When you turn them on full they light up the bathroom nicely. You can easily shave and do other things that require bright balanced light. They don't leave shadows every where like other bulbs I've tried. Liked them some much we went back and purchased more for the living room.

Great Lightbulb
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, I have had the lightbulb for about 2 months and it is running great. The heat sinks on the outside allow you to touch the lightbulb even if it is on, but if you touch them it is extremely hot. The only reason I gave this bulb a 4 is because it is a little on the pricy side and unless it lasts a very long time(which it should being an LED) then its not worth the money.

Can't beat the quality for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Found these bulbs for sale @ $4.99 each. Bought 4 of them and have been very pleased other than they get hot to the touch after about 10 minutes. Haven't had them a complete electrical billing cycle yet but they are in areas of our house where lights are used often so I'm looking to see if I can notice the difference in ussge

Replacving an incandecent bulb is always good.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm trying to replace all the bulbs I can with energy efficient one. I like the LED ones because they're less toxic than the florescent ones, and last longer. This one went into a lamp we keep on most of the time, and will save us its cost over its life-time. It comes on quickly and is bright enough for an accent lamp, which is what we wanted. As they come down in price, and when they're on sale, I'll be getting more of them.

A good alternative to CFL
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up this as a test replacement for a hybrid CFL. I really like the instant on brightness this bulb (and most LED ones) offer. The color was a little warmer than I expected, but nothing near what would push me to replace/return it. Paid $15 for it on sale, which isn't too bad for a LED bulb and only a few dollars more than a hybrid CFL, so if the longevity holds the value will be great.

Great light
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The light bulbs are great. The light is high quality and emits a great light color. Had a problem with one bulb as it quit working after two weeks (supposed to last 20 years). Returned the bulb to Best Buy and they replaced it.

Q: QuestionWhat's the CRI of the LEDs?The XM-L LEDs reportedly used in this bulb are available from CREE in bins of CRI (Colour Rendering Index) of 80 CRI, 85 CRI, or 90 CRI, making for a wide range in the quality of the light. So what's the CRI rating of this light?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I don't know the rating, but to me the color rendition is much better than most of the LEDs that I have bought. The "CREE" bulbs have an unnatural greenish tint worse than most fluorescents. I find most incandescents too yellowish for my tastes. I have been replacing reveal bulbs, and the color is very close with maybe a touch more blue.

Q: QuestionWhat are the details on acceptible use?Example: Operating temperature? Enclosed area? Exposed to weather such as a outdoor lamp post?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I live in FL where it's hotter than an elephants armpit and i use these bulbs outside and they work great. But i do want to note it's on my front porch so i don't know if it will withstand rain. I even noticed there's way less bugs flocking to my porch at night when i turn them on.

Q: QuestionWhat is the CRI of this bulb?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer CRI is Color Rendering Index, and is a measure of how much of the color spectrum the light emits. CRI ranges from 0 to 100, with 100 meaning full spectrum light like the sun. Typical CFL bulbs have a CRI of 80. Incandescent bulbs have a CRI of 97. CRI is unrelated to return on investment (ROI). I just wanted to know the CRI of this bulb before I buy one.
