Without a subscription, you will still be able to receive real-time notifications, use live view, and have two-way talk with visitors at your door. However, Ring does offer an optional subscription plan called Ring Protect that unlocks additional features. The Ring Protect Basic plan covers one device and gives you access to video recording history so you can review, save, and share recorded videos. The Ring Protect Plus plan covers unlimited Ring devices at your home and includes extended video history, 24/7 Professional Monitoring for Ring Alarm, and additional benefits such as an extended warranty on your Ring devices. There is also the Ring Protect Pro plan, which includes everything in Plus along with 24/7 Backup Internet and enhanced digital security features. However, if you do have existing doorbell wiring at your home that provides 16 to 24 VAC, you can optionally hardwire the Battery Doorbell Pro to help keep the battery topped off and reduce the need for manual recharging.
