Battery power life, display, weight and price when purchased were perfect for browsing, streaming movies music. Installed open Office. Removed some bloatware. Bluetooth, micro HDMI worked great. Inserted a 32GB ultra microSD for downloaded files and created docs. High-speed wireless LAN 802.11 N really worked. No optical drive is no big deal. Got an extra external DVD writer. Will update if a Bluray writer could work smoothly. Highly recommended for particular usage considering the specs.

I bought this to see if I have been missing something new about Windows. For the last couple of years, I have been using Android and Chromebook devices. I have two older Windows devices (newest is 2 years old) and I don't use them a lot. About all I do on them is run Quicken. So when I saw this little laptop at about 1/3 of the price of my old ASUS laptop, I bought it.. I am really happy that I did. It is really light (2 lbs. 2 oz.) and works very well. It loaded and ran Quicken 2015 from a portable USB CD/DVD drive and will also wotk with my portable USB 1 TB Hard drive. As received, it had 16.9 GB free from the 20.8 GB drive C:. It's Passmark CPU Mark = 994. It has loadedand run all the Apps that I have tried from the Windows Store. On the Windows Desktop, there is a Icon for the E-Manual. It is 110 pages and very good for the laptop and learning Windows 8.1. It will last about 6 days on the battery in "sleep" mode. It's few shortcomings are it is not a touchscreen and there are no external indications that it is in "sleep" mode. It will recharge from 7% to full in under 2 hours. The more I use it, the better I like it.

For what I paid (less than 150) this laptop is a very good deal. Solidly built all around, with more capability than a chromebook it works quite well. Yes it is slow at times, but those moments are fewer and farther apart than I expected. I was looking for a very portable machine that could run whatever a windows box could. This machine does that well. It isn't fast, it isn't powerful, but for this price you don't expect that. It is simply a solidly built, extremely portable machine that can run a full MS Office Suite when you need it. A nice sized track pad and an almost full sized keyboard makes working with it comfortable. In fact I am typing my review here on this device. The only thing I do not like is how badly fingerprints show on the dark blue model.

It doesn't come close to $1000 laptops, but for the price it's great. I haven't had any major issue with it, and it's very light and portable. If you're planning on doing anything big like gaming, video editing, coding with IDE, etc, you might want to look for a different laptop though, because it's not designed for that.

Found this laptop on sale for less than $100. Is perfect for my son to slip in his backpack and take to class for note taking and research. Not a ton of memory and not fast enough for gaming but perfect for running office products.

The size and weight are great, and it works reasonably fast. You have to like Windows 8. No Bluetooth, and no ethernet port, but these can be rectified from the USB ports. All in all, pretty good.

I give this laptop 4 stars because it has the notorious Windows 8. But this is a capable PC for web browsing, emails, etc. and more. Much better than an iPad, iPhone or Android phone. Light, fast, beautiful screen, and best of all, a good keyboard. It's not a Thinkpad 15" 1080-pixel or Macbook Pro Retina 15, which I use for more serious work. But in this price and size class, nothing can beat it. It's lacking an Ethernet port, full size SD slot, and optical drive (which I don't care). But Bestbuy gets 0 star for not adjusting my price which went down $40 in a week (I bought it on line, went to Customer Service in person for adjustment).

Because of low price bought it to use when traveling. Thought it would be nice to have light weight computer for travel. I did not think I would use it at home as I had just bought larger HP laptop (17 inch screen) in November. Booted up this ASUS 11 inch laptop for the first time on Christmas day. Boots fast, lightweight for moving around house, shuts down fast. Keyboard good for typing. Ended up not using my new 17 laptop for the next week because this little laptop worked great. On thing that could be improved is the material used for the case. The case shows finger print/skin oil. Other than that I love this laptop,
