Keep your family safe with this Blink three-camera system. Advanced motion detection alerts you to potential intruders, and the energy-efficient design operates for up to 2 years on two AA batteries. This Blink three-camera system captures footage in stunning 1080p resolution and lets you talk to visitors via the included app.
Q: Does it record all day or just when the camera sees a motion?
A: You can set it to record "live" but if the video exceeds the limit that the cloud services offer for free then you might have to pay for additional storage. It comes on when the motion detection senses movement, but the clip that it takes is short and alerts are sent to your phone. You can choose to go to live audio/video when an alert is received.
A: Blink’s server provides each Sync Module storage for up to 7,200 total seconds of video (or 1,440 five-second events) for as long as you like (no expiration). If you reach your storage limit, it will automatically delete the oldest clip in order to make room for the next one. You are also able to set clips to automatically delete based on a time limit. By default, this is set to 14 days, but you can also change that to 3 days, 7 days, 30 days, and 1 year. Any important clips can also be saved to your mobile device at anytime by using the share feature on the clip within the clip roll folder of the APP.
Q: does it have a serein that will let me know and to scar off people
A: No siren but it will alert you on your phone and you could go on and talk through the camera to scream at the person
A: You are able to adjust your camera settings, view video clips, receive notifications, and access live view through the App on your mobile device from anywhere as long as you have a wifi or cellular connection. This is important to note for your cellular data plan, watching a five second motion clip without WiFi connection will use about 750KB of your data plan.
Q: Can I have the cameras record while I’m not there and how long can you record for?
A: You can record clips up to 60 seconds long. Clip length is one of the options on a slider in Camera Settings (see screenshot). You can also turn on the camera (“live view”) at any time when you’re away, and watch what’s going on, without recording and saving. I do that all the time to check on my pets when I’m not home.
A: It comes with a mount.
Q: Can blink Xt2 be mixed with original blink xt cameras?
A: Yes - I have the original Blinks in the interior of my home and the XT2’s on the exterior because the XT2’s have 2 way audio. You can use up to 10 cameras on one sync system.
A: I suppose this would work as long as the camera/system had access to wifi and the camera would be within range of the sync module that needs to be plugged in to a normal wall outlet at all times. Do note, The Blink cameras cannot be used to face out a window. Blink’s PIR sensor cannot detect motion through glass, so a Blink indoor or Blink XT/XT2 camera positioned behind a window will not create clips when armed. However, it can be faced out a window, or through glass, for use with Live View.
