Brother laser printer with many features.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After some bad experiences with other brands of printers (which had so many complicated features that they often malfunctioned), I decided to try this Brother. It also has a lot of features, but as far as I can tell so far, they are fairly simple to access and so far, at least, they actually work. The wireless connectivity was a breeze. This printer won't get used a lot, and laser printers are supposed to be more immune to drying out than inkjets. But because of the infrequent use, I haven't subscribed to the Refresh Subscription and can't comment on that. It can take awhile to truly assess a printer, but I will say that so far, I am very pleased.

Outstanding printer wish I would have done color
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wish I would have gotten the color printer but it was pricy overall. I do think this printer simple to setup and works outstanding. We were tired of inkjet cartridges and constant failures of my cheaper printers. I think you get what you pay for with the lower budget printers. This seems solid and working well! It’s worth the money if you don’t need color printing!

Very Solid Value & Functionality
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As with most Brother products, I am satisfied with the MFC-L2710DW. Price-wise, it is a solid deal. And I prefer the Brother scanning software to Epson and Canon for its flexibility in creating custom scan settings. It is always a little quirky to install Brother drivers and software. And I think this installation may have impacted the older Control Center for my other Brother products, so I need to confirm if that is or is not the case. That said, it is full featured with laser printing, sheet-feed and flatbed scanning, and even faxing (which, I still use on occasion for sending to government and medical organizations). If you've used other Brother products, it's comfortable and familiar. And it's none of that stupid ink subscription nonsense. Also, the purchase and pickup process at Best Buy was fine, so I am happy there as well.

Black and White printer for the win
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer recently however it did not arrive the day it was suppose to. Keep in mind this was on December 24 which I understood and didnt mind. However the printer actually got lost in transit and I had to get a new printer shipped to me after I gave a call to Best Buy explaining the situation. This printer has been great for my uses although a bit pricey for what I need. I only use this printer to print but it can fax, scan, copy. The issue I have with this printer is using the buttons on it. The printer would show add new paper prompt and i either select yes or no. But when I add more paper into the printer, I cant select yes or no. The printer doesnt register any of the buttons I press. I dont mind because i dont use the printer for anything more than printing. Also I use my pc to print or do anything I need to do on my printer so I dont mind. Just gets a bit irritaing

Q: QuestionHow does the Brother MFC-2710DW differ from the MFC-2700?
Asked by sugar.
- A:Answer You'd think that would be a legitimate question / easy to find an answer. I've been wondering about that for a while now. So far the only difference I can see is the color of the plastic. Actually, now manually comparing the 2 brother spec pages: www.brother-usa.com/mfc/modeldetail/4/mfcl2710dw/spec www.brother-usa.com/mfc/modeldetail/4/mfcl2700dw/spec 2710 - faster black print speed 32 vs. 27 page per minute 2710 - faster black copy speed 32 vs. 27 page per minute 2710 - less fax autodial locations and less broadcast fax locations ( only 200 vs. 208 autodial and 250 vs. 258 broadcast) both are more than most anyone would ever need : ) 2710 - different flatbed scan resolution (1200x1200 vs. 600x2400) Both are more than I would use - stupidly large file size 2710 - more RAM (64MB vs. 32MB) 2710 - use TN760 / DR730 toner and drum vs. TN660 / DR630 for the 2700!! So similar marchines using diff replacements!?!?! A quick look the TN660 is cheaper than TN760 cost per page. And the TN660 works in the 2700... AND the 2720. What's the difference with THAT model : ) 2710 - scanner feeder holds 50 vs. 35 pages

Q: QuestionIs it possible to scan to a USB drive?
Asked by V.
- A:Answer I needed to do this recently. I didn't have a lot of time to trouble-shoot, so I scanned to my computer and saved the scan to my USB drive. That worked and I was able to use the scanned PDF on my thumb drive in the college class that I taught that night.
Answered by petm52
Q: QuestionCan you scan multiple pages at once? Or do you have to feed them one page are a time?
Asked by lixxoe.
- A:Answer Yes, the Brother MFC-L2710DW can scan 50 pages at a time using the ADF.
Answered by Brother
Q: QuestionWhen you purchase the printer what comes with it?
Asked by handyman.
- A:Answer Toner, but buy a back up TN 730. The one that comes with your printer won’t last that long. We use ours for a small business.
Answered by Helpingmom
Q: QuestionThe scan functions scans in color? Will then be able to send the scan image to my email? JPG? PDF?
Asked by Greg.
- A:Answer Yes, the printer scans in color; prints in black & white. You will be able to save as .jpg or .pdf files. The files are saved to your computer not to your email. You may attach the files to your email to send if you choose to do so.

Q: QuestionWhy does this wireless laser printer come with a telephone line cord? I do not have a landline...do I need one for this? Thanks.
Asked by Connie.
- A:Answer The telephone plug is for faxing. If you don't have a phone line, you can still scan, save the image to your computer and fax for free using an online faxing service, Or you can attatch the image to an email. Don't get wrong, this is a good printer. A little big, but adequate. Still honestly unless you own a business, few have a telephone line anymore. I have a business, and don't even fax anymore, so this feature is a little bit antiquated.

Q: QuestionCan you add an additional paper tray to this printer? One for Letter and another for legal?
Asked by NolaTexan.
- A:Answer There is not an optional paper tray for Brother MFC-L2710DW.
Answered by Brother
Q: QuestionI need to print mortgage documents that include both letter and legal size paper in one document. Can I set the tray with letter size and the feeder with legal size and print exactly as the file specifies w/o it scaling down the legal size pages?
Asked by MortgageDocs.
- A:Answer If you select 'Auto Select' as the Paper Source, the application will automatically print from the appropriate tray based on the document's paper size. For this feature to work, the tray settings must be defined from the machine's control panel, the printer driver must be configured properly, and the paper size must be configured properly within the document's properties. Auto Select is the default setting of the printer driver.
