  • Key Specs
    • Storage Capacity: 1000 gigabytes (Measured in megabytes (MB), gigabytes (GB) and terabytes (TB), this is the amount available for storing files, music, movies, photos and more. The total includes the capacity of the hard disk drive and solid state drive if both are included on the computer.)
    • Storage Drive Type: SSD (Traditional, mechanical hard disk drives are the most common type of storage because they're relatively inexpensive and offer huge capacities. However, they also generate both noise and heat. Solid state drives, also known as SSDs, are many times faster than hard disk drives and have no moving parts to wear out, but typically offer less capacity for the same price.)
    • Interface(s): PCIe Gen 4 x4 (Refers to the types of connections that devices use to interact and communicate with each other.)

Q: Can the heatsink be removed?

A: Yes the heatsink can be removed

Q: Will this fit in a laptop or is it specifically for desktops

A: Hi, It'd be for systems that support PCIe 4 NVMe drives. That could potentially mean a laptop, although I'm uncertain any support PCIe 4.0 speeds at this time, or the heatsink. I usually recommend our MP510 for laptop use as long as the connectivity is, of course, existent. If you have more specific questions, please reach out: support.corsair.com

Q: Does this come with a screw and standard off?

A: Hi PotentialBuyer, No, these should be provided by your motherboard manufacturer. -Brian

Q: I am looking at buying this drive and wanted to know if I would need to remove the heatsink, due to space (if so then another model would be purchased) . I am running an AMD3800RX in an ASUS TUFGAMING X570 with the Wraith Heatsink. MSI 970GTX GPU.

A: Hello, Please check what your board recommends, but we don't recommend taking the heatsink off unless the drive is properly cooled. If you have anything else we can help with, please reach out: support.corsair.com -Art

Q: I want to upgrade my 525gb SSD to Corsair SSD. 2009 Mac tower has NVMExpress on it and PCI. Can this SSD be used. What else needs to be considered? System used primarily for music production, plug ins, application, etc. System drive needs room to run.

A: Hi, This wouldn't work, you'll most likely need to look into using a SATA SSD for that system. Please consult with your manual. If you have anything else we can help with, please reach out: support.corsair.com -Art
