Q: Does this laptop have some kind of problem?
A: This laptop does not have an independent graphics processor from Nvidia or ATI. It uses the integrated Intel 5500 graphics processor which should be more than adequate for most tasks including some low to mid-level games. If you're going to use the laptop for heavy duty graphics and/or high level games, you would be better off looking at a unit with an I7 CPU and a discrete graphics processor with at least 2 GB of RAM.
A: There are 2 dram slots in the machine, currently one has a 4Gb part and the other has a 2 Gb part. So yes it is upgradeable but you sill have to remove one or both of the existing parts. The gotcha is that the entire based of the unit needs to be removed to update/replace either the dram and/or the hard disk. It is strongly recommend to use phone/tablet disassemble tools because there are more than screws holding it together. There are videos on youtube showing how to disassemble.

A: Any USB external hard drive should work and with plug and play, they should connect and be immediately usable. I have an Pioneer external drive that plays Blue Rays and plays and records DVDs/CDs and it works perfectly.
