Every season it gets better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The season 3 box set is quite attractive with the close-up character images that were used in the key art for the season. Lots of bonus features. As i said before I hate it that the info card is not part of the actual box. i always want to keep it and it's almost impossible to keep.

Best show on TV!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best T.V show of all times is clearly by far a Game of Thrones. It has all the action that you need, beautiful women and it is set in a fantasy world where your imagination can go wild. The action consists of battles for the throne, Dragons flying about and swords constantly clashing. It shows the blood and all the gore making it that much better. Just in the first few episodes alone the George R. R. Martin whom is the writer captivates your imagination and will have you feeling as if you are directly in the fight. The Characters are so well played that it is inspiring to the imagination, has you thinking about the possibilities. The main reason I kept watching the show was seeing how beautiful the princess and the queens where. I know that they have professional make up artist and the lighting is modified so that they look their best, but even with all of the enhancers their beauty still keeps me interested. Now the setting is in a fantasy world but it also has a hint of medieval times. Everybody once in their lives has dreamed about ruling their own castle, leading men in battle with swords and shields instead of guns like in today’s world. Well this shows makes you feel a bit closer to that dream. Now if you aren’t into these types of shows I suggest you watch it and see if you don’t change your mind. Game of Thrones will satisfy all your T.V watching craving needs with it’s beauty, blood and gore and the setting will make you a king.

Dragons, villains turn good, and a red wedding.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After the tremendous first season there was a sophomore slump but here is the fantastic third season bringing top form back to the land of Westeros. If you've kept up with the series until now, then there's nothing to say but continue! Season three seamlessly weaves tight-plotting, awe-inspiring performances and shocking cliffhangers; coming the closest to achieving the best hour of television currently airing, since Breaking Bad wrapped up nicely last year. Season three of GoT, continues the tale of House Stark, Lannister, Targaryen and everyone else's plays to take over the land of Westeros. I will not give anything away. This being season three, I will simply recite my feelings watching it. It is a wonder to see the series follow unexpected turns and create them so believably and efficiently. Villains gain unexpected humanity, princesses are not what they seem to be, and honor does not come before revenge... Powerful, devastating, and addicting. Pick this up and clear your calendar, one does not simply watch ONE episode of GoT, be aware you'll spend the next 10+ hrs on your couch with your jaw dropped as this world wraps itself around you. You'll find it difficult to get out or want to. Highest recommendation.

GOT goes from strength to strength
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GOT is undoubtedly the best TV show I have ever experienced. It far surpasses other shows that I watch or have watched, such as Rome, Boardwalk Empire, The Tudors, Spartacus, The Walking Dead, and even Breaking Bad. It is better than 95% of those big-budget movies that appear in the theaters. The strongest features are its epic, sprawling but intertwined plotline, and its complex character portrayel and development. Although there are few big-name actors in the show, the acting level is superb. The production values are outstanding considering that they "only" had $50 million or so to work with for each season. Season 3 follows the parallel stories occuring in Essos, the North, at King's Landing, at Dragonstone and at Riverrun; it jumps from place to place but in such a skillful way that everything fits together seamlessly. Although there are no big-budget battle scenes a la Blackwater, the Red Wedding more than makes up for that. I am a committed GOT fan, with my only fear being that GRRM will pass away before he can complete his masterpiece.

Game of Thrones Season 3 Steelbook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great show. Excellent picture and amazing Atmos track. The packaging however, is awkward and clumsy. I bought this for the sole purpose of having GOT in Atmos. The sigil magnet doesn't really stick very well and the discs are stacked on top of one another. Three discs on one side, two on the other. There's a digital copy code included. At the time of this purchase, this was the only way I could get season 3 in Atmos, but now there is a two pack with seasons 3 and 4 together with Atmos and much simpler packaging at a better price. I'm sure they will be sold seperate soon enough. This is more of a collector's item and it does look very handsome in its case, but I wouldn't recommend this particular packaging for the casual fan. I'm recommending this product as a whole for being a good show with excellent picture and sound, but this particular version is best for collectors.

Game of Thrones - Season Three
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Game of Thrones is a well-acted show with great sets, great costumes, great visual effects and interesting storylines with unexpected plot twists. Based upon George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series of books, it is, without a doubt, for mature audiences. I haven't read the books so I cannot say how strictly the show adheres to the book. I have heard, however, that it is a near-faithful adaptation. Despite all of the accolades that the show has received, there are some issues which may make viewers who have never seen the show think twice before purchasing this season three set. First, there is a lot of graphic violence. While the setting of the show, a mythical land of kings and knights, dragons and dark forces, would seem to indicate that a certain level of violence is to be expected, some of it may be too intense for certain audiences. Second, there is an abundance of graphic interpersonal situations and full frontal nudity, both male and female, though more female. Third, there is a lot of vulgar language. For me, this is the biggest problem with the show. It's not that I have a problem with occasional foul language, it's that the words seem too modern for the era in which the show is seemingly set. Every time one is used, it pulls me out of that fantasy world. It breaks my "willing suspension of disbelief". Perhaps it's just me, but if they had created words, like Battlestar Galactica's FRAK or Farscape's FRELL, then I might not get that jarring feeling. Who knows. Finally, my biggest gripe is not with the show itself, but rather with the box set of the season. The season consists of 10 episodes and there are 5 discs in the set. There are only TWO episodes per disc which means that you have to get up and change the disc EVERY TWO EPISODES. This is NOT conducive to binge watching. Sure, there are extras on each disc. There are character profiles and behind the scenes documentaries. Still, this could have easily been a three disc set (5 episodes on disc one, 5 episodes on disc two and all extras on disc three) but I feel that the 5 disc format is used so that studios could charge more money for the box set. With that in mind, I advise waiting until it goes on sale for less than $10. All in all, I'd say that if you enjoy the fantasy genre and don't mind some adult situations, then Game of Thrones - Season Three might just be worth checking out.
