Great navigation!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned many garmins in the past, and no not because they don't last long it's because I have given them to friends or family and I buy myself a new one, I must say I was amazed at the price on Black Friday for this, just the lifetime maps on its own is nearly what I paid for it. I love how when your near your exit it shows what lanes to be in mainly when you are traveling to places you don't know, garmins are excellent devices and prefer to use my phone on more local finds since I don't have to carry bulk but out of town expeditions and such I carry this little guy

My best purchase as of late!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had borrowed a friend's Garmin GPS after my Tom Tom was always gettingme lost and couldn't be updated. His was supposed to be a nicer GPS and more expensive but I always had the worst time tapping in the addresses. I would hit more than one letter or number. It was very frustrating. I have small hands, so it wasn't that big fingers were getting in the way. This GPS was affordable and the screen size is decent. I haven't accidentally hit one wrong number or letter yet. It is also very easy to hook up to your computer and update.

Plenty of features for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this 50LM model to replace an older garmin from four years ago. My old one was small and didn't have lifetime maps. It was basically a starter model that I didn't think I would use much. Now we have two kids and travel a lot and it was time for an upgrade. I love the big 5" screen, lane assist, and lifetime maps. It also speaks the name of streets which my old gps didn't do. We plan on traveling to seven states this year and we don't travel without our gps. Either in our car or our rental car, I never feel lost. It even helps find parking garages, gas stations, restaurants, and more when I'm not sure what's close to me during my travels. Peace of mind is a wonderful thing when traveling with kids!

Great Gps with lots of cool features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first GPS and it has been fantastic so far. quickly recalculates if you take an alternate route or miss a turn, and provides both directions when coming up to super close or tricky turns. Splits into two screens at exits or certain roads with multiple lanes and turns into one being a normal GPS screen, and the other a picture of the exit, the lanes, and an arrow guiding you down the correct lane. It also shows how fast your going, and has a little speed limit sign letting you know what the current speed limit is in case you aren't sure or don't see signs. Pretty awesome luck with it. Our cigerette lighter port doesn't work so we can't charge it in car so its battery life doesn't last super long trips (like more than 2-3 hours depending on brightness levels) but it also has a menu listing all the turns so we sometimes just remember or snap a pic on our phone of the list of directions and turn it back off to save battery life. Lifetime maps is also amazing. Great Product all around.

awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This came just as described. The nav works great and the size of the screen is just right. It comes with a nice mount for the dash or windshield so you really don't need to get one for it cause they do ask if you want to buy one. I'm sure there are better mounts but the one that comes with it are just fine. I feel the best part about the nav is the fact that it has lifetime free updates... So u don't have to pay for any of them. That's a huge selling point. It is very simple to use and very self explanatory. And very simple to set up. And for the price, you just can't beat it.

Great for a beginner
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this for ease of use and price since I was a beginner. I also only need for local use in NJ and PA. But having used it I can see using it for longer travel. I have used it to go to more than one place in a day and it works great. It just decreases the stress or worrying about directions. I keep in the arm rest compartment of my car out of sight and bring out only when I use it. I see no reason to have to even look at it once you set it up with your destination. It talks to you. Very easy. I recommend this product.

Great GPS unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unit beacause it was rated at CNet as a top 5 GPS navigator (http://reviews.cnet.com/best-gps/). If you don't need all the bell & whistles, this is hard to beat at this price point. 1/2 the price of the others in the Top 5. Lifetime maps, large screen, junction view with Lane Assist. Simple menu!! We fly to a city and rent a car for a week. Definitely gets us from A to B.

Q: QuestionNeed a gps announce lane guidance as well as exits coming upNeed to buy a gps but not sure which one would have this feature
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, the Garmin Nuvi50LM unit does show which lane you should take. It even shows the exit sign, when you have to take that particular exit. What is really nice, is that this unit comes with a power cable, USB cable (for updating maps and system updates), and a suction cup holder. There isn't anything else to purchase! None of those "Oh by the way, you need this, that, etc ...!"
