Q: How long does it take the conventional oven to preheat to 350 degrees?

A: Hi, Good question! We're glad to have your interest and we'd be happy to give you an answer. Normally these models take 15-20 minutes to preheat. Thanks for checking with us! -Sylvia@GEA

Q: can you turn the convection off?

A: To use the convection feature you need to engage the control panel, otherwise it is turned off. I have not baked or used this function due to the extreme heat we are experiencing. I have been using the stove top to cook due to the outside heat, and discovered a melt setting today on the small back burner, a surprise to me.

Q: What is power boil versus two ring burner?

A: Hi Tim - Thanks for viewing GE JB655FKDS! The 6"/9" PowerBoil™ (3100 Watt) element is 20% more powerful than the standard 6"/9" element and the PowerBoil packs the same wattage as the 12-inch elements into an element that is 33% smaller. By concentrating the heat, our time to boil has been reduced by approximately 14%. The 12"/9" dual element lets you choose between 12-inch and 9-inch electric elements for a more convenient cooking experience. Q: How do you use the air fry feature on this model?

A: Just push the air fyer button then start. And set to desired temp. It automatically goes to 400 degrees when you push start. You can change the temp using the key pad on stove. Do not have to wait for the air fryer to preheat like the bake feature which is nice. Does not come with an air fryer basket. I use a regulat pan and spray with cooking spray. Also does not come with directions for cooking times and temperatures for different foods, Which is a con. But with that said, really enjoying the air fyer option.

Q: We bought one of these ranges. No booklet came with it but we did get one for the microwave. Questioned the installer but got no reliable answer. How do I use the self cleaning. This is new to me and I want to get it right.

A: Hi there, and thanks for reaching out to us! We hate to hear you did not receive a manual for your range; we know that is valuable for a new appliance, and are glad to advise you can view the manual online. If you go to our GE website and look up your model number, you can click on the product page and use the 'Owner Support' link (under the picture of the appliance) to pull up that document. The instructions for cleaning the range, including the Self Clean option, start on page 16 of the manual. There are also safety instructions at the beginning of the manual for Self Clean, because of the very high temperatures. To give an overview: before operating Self Clean, wipe up grease and soils from the oven. Remove all items from the interior other than dark color enamel racks. Shiny or silver racks, cookware and other items need to be removed. Close and latch the door, and press the Self Clean pad. A default time will be displayed which you can alter if you wish using the plus and minus options; once you have the preferred time press Start. It will take at least 3 and at most 5 hours; the oven will reach extremely high temperatures during this time and for safety reasons needs to stay locked and closed. The oven will turn itself off when the cycle is complete. Once it has cooled down it can be unlocked and any remaining ash wiped up. The first time you use Self Clean, we recommend venting your kitchen with an open window, or using a ventilation fan or hood. If you own birds we advise moving them to another well-ventilated room; their health can be sensitive to the fumes given off during this cycle. We hope this information is helpful, and are available for any other concerns or questions. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

Q: Is this true convection? I understand there's a difference between "convection" ranges and "true convection" ranges.

A: Hey there, Thank you so much for reaching out. We'll be happy to provide an answer. This model range does not use True Convection. If you are looking for a similar modes that does have True Convection, then check out model PB935YPFS. Wishing you well! Mike@GEA

Q: How wide is the oven? My space is only 31" and I'm wondering if it will fit?

A: I've just measured width - 30 inches, even 1/8" less.

Q: Are the knobs and oven handle stainless steel? The photo makes knobs look darker in color-- not like shiny stainless steel. Thanks.

A: The fingerprint free stainless is darker looking, The knobs, back control panel, handle and drawer are stainless. The balance is black.
