Great performer, horrible light bleed
Posted .Features
Quality3 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Wife bought this for me from BB, over all it performs great. The only problem was that it had a lot of light bleed, and I mean A LOT. I thought I could ignore it but turns out I couldn’t, I had to return it. If not for the light bleed I would have kept it, it performs well.

Nice monitor - Bad quality control issues
|Posted .Features
Quality1 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5Pros mentioned:DesignEverything about this monitor seems like it'd be the perfect IPS panel for the price. Looks great, stand is nice, super amazing display. 170hz refresh rate is noticeable in games and holds its own against the other LG IPS 2k monitors. BUT, and a big but too.......the panel I waited 5 days for, that I just picked up at a store 10 miles away, came with 3 dead pixels and horrible black light bleed on the left side. It's not the expected IPS glow that most panels have either, literally looks like dark brown haze to the eye. This monitor is now "sold out" and I have no option but to return it. I really liked this monitor, but I only ended up wasting a bunch of time and sadly disappointed. Check the pics, I hovered my cursor over the dead pixels. I originally thought it had 1 bad pixel, but as I started writing this review, I discovered the other 2 near it. Would not be surprised if I find more. Please check other websites that carry this M27Q, I'm not the only one with this issue. Seems quality control is severely lacking. Now I have to go stand in line to return this in the middle of a pandemic, with no option to exchange it for another. What a waste..

Almost perfect for me

Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Fantastic! Knocking 1 star because I'm coming from a 32" monitor. I have no dead pixels and no trouble with bgr pixel layout causing text fringe. I didn't even run windows clear type. Colors are amazing to me. My computer is for gaming. Primarily fps games. COD, Cyberpunk, Destiny, they all look great. Gsync works just fine with my RTX 2060. Image is crisp and fluid, thank you ips panel! But I also work from home and connect my laptop to this monitor. The KVM on this thing is working flawlessly now that I have a thunderbolt 2 usb c cable (not required for KVM, but it's the only output my laptop has) bonus with usb c, full 170Hz refresh vs 60Hz with my hdmi adapter. If I had one gripe about the monitor, it's the power indicator light. It's on steady white with an active input, but it blinks white on sleep mode. Not huge, but pretty noticable if the monitor is in your bedroom and your trying to go to sleep. I would prefer steady amber. I have not tried my PS5 with it yet, but plan to. Apparently this monitor will accept a 4k signal and downscale to 1440p. This would allow up to the 120Hz the PS5 is capable of... Better performance than my GPU is capable of in some games.

Great mid-range monitor!

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I use this monitor for 1) my work laptop 2) my gaming pc and 3) my PS5. I have no issues with it while using my computers. I’ve seen other buyers have issues with lighting around the edges of their units but either mine doesn’t have the issue or it’s just unnoticeable. My PS5 graphics don’t look as good as I would have hoped but that’s probably because I haven’t bothered to calibrate it for my PS5. You can customize settings for different profiles and quickly switch between profiles using the menu knob behind the monitor. My one gripe with this monitor is the placement of the menu knob (behind the monitor, lower right-hand side). I wish they had positioned it lower towards the bottom of the screen so that I could just curl a finger underneath rather than awkward stick my entire hand under and around the back, feeling for the knob. One of the nifty features of this monitor is supposed to be the KVM switch, but I haven’t had the chance to use it yet. At $330, I don’t think you’ll have much buyer’s remorse with this monitor - it’s fantastic and gets the job done. If you can get it for below $300, I’m not sure if this could beat.

Exactly what I wanted!
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I was looking for specific settings at the 1440p resolution and this monitor did it for an amazing price of $330 ($30 off MSRP). 170hz refresh rate, 1 ms refresh rate advertised (this is case for most monitors) that is closer to 4 ms with very low error rate. Wider color gambut than Srgb. Had no issues or dead pixels, and Best Buy delivered it undamaged and on time. Checkout Hardware Unboxed’s YouTube channel for review and recommended settings. Absolutely love this, as I was originally looking at an ultrawide but these specs would have cost $1k in an ultrawide!

It's alright

Quality3 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5The value you're getting out of this monitor can't be beat. I ended up returning the monitor though because the monitor's BGR pixel layout made text and overall appearance blurry. OSD was somewhat confusing. I'd say for this price point, you might as well just get a high-end 1080p monitor instead (and even save some money), or pay slightly more for a better quality 1440p monitor.

Q: QuestionIf displayport 1.2 can only support 1440p @ 165hz and hdmi 2.0 can only support 1440p @144hz, how can this monitor run at 170hz given those are the only port options avaliable?
Asked by TheChosenOne68plus1.
- A:Answer I'm not 100% sure, but it may be using "display stream compression" or it might doing YUV 4:2:0.
