A: Yes, the ADF works well so far. One of the reasons I chose this printer is it has the fairly-rare feature of being able to simultaneously scan BOTH sides of a page as it goes through the ADF. So unlike my old printer, it doesn't have to eject, flip, and re-load each page. It's therefore faster and theoretically much less likely to jam in the ADF. Despite others reporting problems with the software side of scanning, I've had no problems with it. It's also easy to insert a USB flash drive and scan directly to that. Multi-page documents can quickly become a single PDF or other file types. With my old Brother MFC, the ADF scanner never jammed, but it had the design flaw that everything would come out skewed. This HP seems to have good automatic de-skewing. As for copying, I've done that a couple times so far and it did so well that the copy was virtually indistinguishable from the original.
Q: Will this printer feed card stock through?
A: Ours won't even consistently feed 20# paper through without regular jams. Avoid this machine if quick and reliable home office printing/scanning is needed.
Q: Can you still print black if color toner runs out?
A: yes you can
Q: Does it come with any cartridges? I see they are upwards of $70+
A: Ye, it comes with full sized cartridges. Surprised me a little when I got mine, was expecting only partial cartridges.
A: No, you can replace just the empty cartridge with this model.
Q: Where do you feed the envelopes in when you are printing them? Is it in the back?
A: You place the envelope(s) in the manual paper tray (Tray #1). When you open the panel for Tray #1, you will see an imprint on how to insert & position the envelope. Don't forget to adjust/slide the paper guides to hug the envelope.
Q: Can this printer handle card stock paper?
A: Yes. I used it to print my homemade Christmas cards and it handled both 67# and 110# card stock without a single jam while printing 150 two-sided cards at the rate of over 15 cards per minute. And the colors were sharp.
A: The answer is yes (a phone cord RJ11 is included).
