HP Slimline Desktop: Increase productivity with this HP desktop computer. Its 1TB hard drive provides ample space to store important files securely, and the Intel Core i7 processor offers fast responses as you edit videos or run 3D games. This HP desktop computer has 12GB of RAM for fast, efficient task-switching between applications.
A: First off, this PC only has a 180W power supply. The minimum recommended power supply wattage for just about any modern video card is going to be 300W. Based on that alone I'd say not to bother. You will quickly burn out the PSU in this computer. Also, this case only has one expansion port opening in the back, and it looks to be low profile. If you decided to go ahead anyway you will need to get a low profile card that does not require any extra power connectors, AND only needs one external slot. You are looking for the Holy Grail of low profile video card upgrades. I'm not sure it exists in any configuration that is going to be better then the integrated Intel 630 graphics that this PC comes with.
A: The Intel 630 graphics card that is integrated in this PC can support a maximum resolution of 4096x2160 @ 60Hz. I would not really recomend higher than 1080P (1920x1080@60Hz) as the higher resolutions tend to feel sluggish, IMO. This PC has HDMI and VGA outputs.
Q: How much RAM can this support?
A: It seems like according to the specs on the HP website it can support up to 16gb of RAM.
Q: What type of M.2 ssd does the motherboard support?
A: Samsung NvMe 960 EVO is working for me and very simple to clone using the included software. From power on to Windows 10 login is seconds!
A: I bought two of these for my older boys. With having a smaller power supply and the smaller case, the graphic card selection is extremely limited. With some research, I found, bought, and installed a GeForce GT 1030 (passive, no fan) for gaming and graphics upgrade. The card is rated at 30w and is lite enough to run effectively. To my knowledge, this is currently the best card this desktop will run. The graphics have improved significantly and my boys are happy with this setup.
Q: Is there space to slot in my old hard drive from my old HP as a slave?
A: I have not seen the inside of this case so I am unsure if there will be the physical room inside but I can tell you that the motherboard has only two SATA ports on it and both of them are populated by the included HDD and CDROM Drive. So, even if you could mount it in the case you will not be able to connect it to the motherboard. Source: https://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c05737506
A: Yes...listed under connections
Q: Why did ye put the price up 300 dollars on Sunday???
A: I do believe it was a pre black Friday special. So when their new ad came out it was no longer on sale. I bought it on Saturday night so I was lucky to get the cheaper price.
