Great phone for my son
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son needed a new phone fast because he'd dropped his in water. He was going out of the country and needed one that would get apps enabling him to text or call home. His new phone was perfect in size and features.

Great Phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first I didn't want this phone mostly because I thought it was too big but I adjusted to it very quickly! The other reason I didn't want it was because I wanted the Samsung Galaxy S4 (I know that one is also big but this one fits in my hand better) but I didn't want to spend the $200 to get it. The guy at Best Buy convinced me that this was a good phone, definitely better than the S3 so I figured I would at least try it. Only complaint so far is how quickly the battery dies. It can usually last all day if I don't use it too much. Nice graphics and sound. I would definitely recommend this phone to someone else.

Nice phone - big screen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone works well as a phone, a camera, and the powerful minicomputer that all smart phones are.The HTC calling interface is easy to use, and voice quality is excellent. I rarely use my phone for music, but sound quality for streaming music is good. I never use the Beats sound enhancement, but the quality of the sound makes enhancement unnecessary. One negative is that you cannot pull the battery. I have found that Android phones get confused, and need a hard reset. Once in 4 months, I lost service, due to phone confusion. I held the power button down for several Droid/HTC flashes, and service returned. Reboot and power off/on did not fix it. I hope I don't have any problems that require a battery pull, that I won't be able to do. The size is large, and just fits in my pocket. I haven't decided whether I will pick the same size or a smaller screen when I upgrade my phone next.

Great phone design that really works well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best designed phone in both aesthetic and ergonomic terms. It has raised the bar even for the otherwise well-designed iPhone 5, which in comparision to the Droid DNA feels diminutive. For picture (and video) taking and viewing, the bigger (5") screen of the DNA is superior to the 4" screen of iPhone 5. In addition, the DNA adds a lot more pixles to its screen such that in spite of its bigger size the DNA has a better resolution that that of the iPhone 5. The DNA also allows complete screen customization via flexibility in placing widgets and tiles in a variety of configurations, ranging from "too" colorful to more subtle shades of grey. One can even add a buisness logo to its screen wallpaper -- which in my case happens to include the letter "M" in red color (against a dark grey background), which then matches the red "side-bars" of the phone to help create an even more striking and unique total design of the phone. The iPhone 5 offers no such flexibility of customization. Why this comparison with the iPhone 5? Because I was initially all set to buy the iPhone 5. But, when the iPhone 5 specs were released, I was underwhelmed. In addition, after the phone's release, the dismissive comments by an Apple VP about an inherently bad quality problem ("chipgate") didn't help either. As I started looking at alternative smartphones, I ruled out Samsung III beacuse of its "plasticky" look and feel, and its front face design that to me didn't appear to be well-proportioned. The Motorola phones likewise to my eyes looked less aesthetic, even as some have comparable specs. Thus, overall, the Droid DNA for me was the hands-down winner in terms of an extermely well-designed phone and an equally well-built quality. It feels perfectly balanced in hand because of its lightweight. And its size is still manageable with one hand, especially as compared to Samsung Note II. We all know by now about the DNA's short battery life. I won't dwell upon it except to say it is bit of a concern. The one design issue with the DNA -- even though the rest of the phone design excels -- is its cumbersome little UBS cover. One hopes that the next time around HTC can fix this annoyance or do way with the cover completely. I have used the phone now for over two weeks. I have to say that just as I am pleased with the DNA's overall design, look and feel, in all its functions as well, the phone is virtually flawless. It has superior overall specs and whether you take pictures (it has an instantly changeable range of settings that provide great flexibilty in picture-taking), watch vidoes, listen to music, use apps, and use email a lot, the DNA delievers on all fronts very well. I would highly recommend this phone to others.

Excellent design dampened by Verizon
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is a very nice upgrade to my original Droid X. It's blazing fast, has a beautiful screen and overall it is well built and light for it's size. However, I feel it is a downgrade in some respects. The lack of HDMI out, a MICRO SD slot, no removable battery and no menu button bother me a bit. The internal storage is honestly not enough. I'm not a music buff but even I've managed to fill up over half of the space available on the internal flash storage. The phone itself is great. I sound clear to others on both private and speaker microphones, the battery life is tolerable lasting me through the day and the screen resolution is fantastic. The built in browser and weather applications are garbage though. Definitely worth the time to go through the settings and remove as much of the bloatware as possible. And there is a lot of it. You will have to go searching for flash support as well. It's not available on this phone unless you download an archived version of it from Adobe. Why manufacturers seem to think it's no longer used on sites is beyond me. Overall I'm happy with this thing, but there are some missteps along the way.

Good Android Based Phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The htc DROID DNA is a great Android based phone running Jellybean OS. The screen size is great and the overall feel of the phone is quality. Screen resolution and brightness is very good indoors or outside. I prefer it much better than the Amolled Galaxy screen which you cannot view in bright outdoor conditions. The layout of the menus is not overly complicated nor overwhelming. The bloatware from Verizon that comes preloaded is however ridiculous! Charging port cover while nice to have is flimsy and will soon break off I am sure. Would like removable microSD card capability though as internal memory is only 16 GB. It is a shame b/c phone's camera and menu settings are excellent quality, so you will definitely be taking lots of good pics with this phone! Sound and call quality is excellent for this phone. Poor positioning of home screen button at bottom of phone I wish was more like the iPhone non-virtual physical button-type as I always accidentally hit it while typing text messages in the vertical mode causing me to continuously close out of text message and return to home screen. The text narrative block and virtual home screen button are too close together in lower portion of the phone. This is probably a problem only if you are a fast text typer. Otherwise it would probably go unnoticed. Overall, a good Android phone...thin, lightweight, and sleek with nice htc detailing throughout.

Great phone, great screen and audio
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this phone is great-good materials, excellent call quality-all apps start quick and run smoothly-5" screen is just the right size, if it was bigger it'd probably be too big-the screen graphics are outstanding, bright and clear, it's the best screen i've seen so far. The phone size is not too large, the screen is edge to edge for the most part and its thin as a wafer even with a case. By the way, I suggest a Trident case, it fits great and makes the buttons easier to use. The Beats Audio is amazing with excellent sound level. I listen to music and streaming audio often and the sound quality is worth it. Need to be aware, this phone seems to use a lot more data than my old sony xperia. I think its the newer android os needing more background data, just something to be aware of. There's is no SD card slot, which I was sort of worried about space for apps and music, but after consideration, the almost 12 gig of useable space is plenty for me. Battery could be better, after a good amount of calls, games and texting, its needs charging in about 8 hrs. I leave my screen on full brightness though which probably eats battery faster. I can deal with the battery though, if you're like me, I have charger in the car and at work. The only other slight flaw is the buttons. They are almost flush and kind of hard to get a feel of. Has good feedback when you find them. Thats where the trident case helped out greatly, buttons were easy to feel and use when in the case. To sum up this is a great phone with excellent screen clarity and graphics, good android os and amazing audio quality with Beats. The two minor flaws aren't enough to bring my opinion of this phone down below an excellent.rating.

Solid Performer, Great Display
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was initially attracted to the phone because of the screen resolution. However, after using it for a while I'm very pleased with the overall responsiveness and capabilities of the phone. The sound quality and camera are good and on par with most smart phones, but I would have liked to see the newer camera in the HTC one in this model as well. I've been surprised that generally I don't notice the phone getting hot despite it's being a quad core. I went with excellent overall because for the price (at least right now at $50) you won't find much better, and even at higher prices still runs neck and neck with most other phones
