Almost a perfect headset...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All I ever had before were Turtle Beach gaming headsets. Always felt HyperX were premium and too expensive. Played with them in Gears of War 4 tournament and I have been missing a lot. These hyper x are very comfortable for long gaming. The earpiece fits over my ears and the pressure is minimal if any (i wear glasses). These units don't have active noise cancelling but I can't hear the family when I put these on. The sound is excellent and I can hear everyone on chat crystal clear. Got no complaints either. Tried using my sony xm3 and got complaints people could hear my ceiling fan. No complaints with these. The only thing I don't like is that the 3.5mm male plug is straight and not curved. I feel it sticks out to much and you can't hold controller close to yourself. This would be 5 star if Hyper-X would make the audio cable replaceable instead of fixed. This would do a lot for environmental sustainability. The mic can be removed. Love the black and silver color. In line volume control is a plus. Ear cups stayed cool and comfortable.

Best Bang for your Buck
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From previously owning the HyperX CloudX Revolver Gaming Headset these are are lighter, more comfortable and my favorite part is the mic cable being more flexible (now i can eat and also not sneeze into the mic) compared to my old headset. I Ordered these on a Saturday and received them on Wednesday (4 days) which was pretty quick in my opinion. I am huge on packaging and HyperX doesn't seem to put to much care into this matter. As shown in the pictures attached. The headset itself looks high quality from the metal frame to the soft ear cushions. I have about 20 hours with this headset and i get no irritations as far as headache from being to tight or to heavy. The sound is a lot more clear not only to me but to the players i chat with online compared to my last headset. The volume control wheel gives me a wide range of where i want to set it up at which I really enjoy. Overall I would recommend this headset to any gamer. The price is great. The quality is great. I have no complaints from quality besides the packaging.

Great mid-range mic option!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first Xbox microphone I’ve purchased that wasn’t a bottom of the line model. I was tired of purchasing cheap models that never lasted, so I decided to spend a little more money to get something that would last longer. So far, I’ve been very pleased with the product. I would have given 5 stars, but as time has gone on, I feel like the microphone has gotten quieter. When I first got it, if I had the volume turned up all the way, it would be extremely loud in my ears, to the point where people could hear my sound through my mic. It no longer feels that loud, though I may have just gotten used to it. I’m not really sure.

Great Headset for a Good Price
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't have the means to purchase high end gaming headsets, so when I do, its normally with a gift card from a holiday, and I usually have to do a lot of research on YouTube and for online reviews before finally making a purchase. This set overall received "great set for the price" positive reviews and those are true. I was drawn to the CloudX because it had the largest drivers and greatest range of frequency response, even more so than ones more than $100. The sound it delivers is clear and plenty loud. The bass isn't booming, but reasonable. The noise isolation works very well, not complete but enough that my wife has to be careful not to startle me. The quality of the build is excellent. The soft pieces are comfortable to wear, and the aluminum gives it a solid feel. My only real concern are the exterior exposed cables that run along the aluminum supports. I feel like I'm liable to catch those on something a pull a short in one of the speakers. The HyperX Gaming website offers replacement ear pads in velour for only $10 if you're looking for a more breathable option for the ear pads. I think I'm going to try them and may update my review when I do.

Great comfort and sound quality.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you wear glasses then finding a comfortable headset can be a challenge. Fortunately the ear pieces of this headset fit over my ears and thus less pressure on my ears and side of my head. Because I wear glasses this is a must. So I can wear these for hours and not feel any discomfort. The sound quality is also pretty good for the price. Everything sounds nice and clear. Having a detachable mic is a great option. Quality of the headset feels good. Especially with the metal on the head support. It would take some strength to break them unlike typical headsets which are mostly plastic. The braided cable that connects to the controller also is of good quality. Doesn't feel like it would tear or cut easily. All in all a very good headset. If I had to nit pick a gripe I'd say maybe the braided cable could have been a little longer. But other than that no complaints.

Great headset for the Xbox One S
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these to replace a 3 year old set of Polks. At first I thought these might be faulty because I couldn't hear chat through them only the game music. I figured they had forgotten to add the adapter that attaches to the bottom of the controller but this model does not require it. It plugs right in the 3.5 jack. I found I had to adjust the chat/music levels under the accessories tab in the Xbox settings. After I did this the headset sounds excellent and really blocks out a lot of noise from in the room. I love this headset now. My only con (not much of one) is the mute slider is on the cable attached to the controller, it can be a little tricky to turn it on if your like me and mute your mic until you're ready to speak. This small con would not stop me from buying again though.

No mic monitoring
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is beyond comfortable. I barely realize that it is on my head. I compare how it feels to a Bose headset. Although, this comfort comes with a few costs. The first cost is the fact that the ear cups are not very breathable. On longer sessions my ears and the area the cups start to sweat. The second cost is that there seems to be next to no mic monitoring. And yes, I do have the settings configured on my Xbox. The third and final cost, the volume controls are not as selective as most other headsets. I previously had a Lucidsound headset which allowed me to adjust chat and game volume independently directly on the headset. This set only has an inline control that adjusts total volume. Therefore, to adjust chat and game volumes independently, you have to open the Xbox menu. Not a huge deal but it is a minor inconvenience.

Best headset I have ever purchased!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned Plantronics Gaming Headset RIG 800HS and the Turtle Beach Stealth 400 headsets. Both are good headsets but this HyperX takes the cake. The headset feels sturdy and not cheap. I wear glasses so even when wearing these for gaming or work, they never hurt my head or ears. I love the way you can detach the mic from the headset and the volume and mute controls which allow me to control sound on my Xbox without entering the guide to make the changes. I would definitely recommend this headset to anybody looking for a great headset at a great price.
