Q: How do you connect to electrical outlet?
A: You should be able to use a small adapter/charger, i.e. one used to charge a cell phone. Or if there is a computer, or television, or stereo receiver near by many will have a powered USB port built in that you can connect to.
A: Mine is plugged into the USB in TV and when tv powered on will turn on each time no need to adjust and will remember you last setting - dim or bright.
Q: Is this light suitable to be used as a reading light if all other lights in room are off?
A: It would all depend on where they were mounted . . . I would think that if they were mounted directly above (and a little behind?) the seating position where you were reading that they might well be able to serve that purpose
Q: Can this be used as an outdoor lighting? I would like to use this on my deck.
A: Could it? Sure, but they aren't THAT bright and it's USB powered. There are other products that would be better-suited for most deck applications I can imagine.
Q: Does it have a chaser mode?
A: No it does not

A: I think it will be bright enough for your application. It comes with an in-line dimmer control, and at it's brightest setting puts out at least as much as a 40watt bulb in my opinion.
Q: Can you connect multiple 4' tapes together to form a longer LED Tape Light?
A: No. Additional light strips require a seperate power plug. The that comes with the strip is on to turn the light on or off and adjusting the brightness.
