Synopsis

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa
Mischievous octogenarian Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville in heavy makeup and prosthetics) and his 8-year-old grandson Billy (Jackson Nicoll) embark on a debauched cross-country road trip in this geriatric Jackass spin-off from Paramount Pictures and MTV Films. Upon learning that his wife of 46 years has died, horny granddad Irving Zisman is eager to get out and sow his geriatric oats. Irving's lecherous journey is soon threatened, however, when his crackhead daughter shows up at the funeral with his grandson Billy in tow. It seems that Billy's mother has gotten in trouble with the law once again, and she needs Irving to drive him across the country to be with his deadbeat dad -- who only agrees to take the boy after learning that he'll receive $600 a month in government support. Determined not to let the little runt get in the way of his good times, Irving stuffs his wife's corpse in the trunk of his classic Lincoln town car, plops Billy in the passenger seat, and hits the road, making occasional pit stops to engage in some bawdy hidden-camera antics along the way. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

First things first, I always loved Jacka$$ and have always been a fan of Johnny Knoxville. I'm not an uppity prude. I'm just a laid back, easy going guy in my mid 30's. With that being said, here's my review: My friend told me I HAD to buy this movie as he had seen it twice in the theatre. Like most people, I had saw plenty of trailers for this film and looked hilarious. I bought it and only ended up chuckling a few times. Pretty much all the funny parts were shown in the previews so there were no surprises at all. There was a lot of extra fluff thrown in between the situations that was very unnecessary. It was basically a glorified (somewhat glorified) jacka$$ episode that I'll never watch again. Huge disappointment. Now if there's somebody that's never seen a preview and is very easily amused, then this might be the movie for them.

Ok, so here I was expecting to see a lot of the normal moments because, well its Johnny Knoxville's crew... Unfortunately it was nothing of the sort. I give Jonny Knoxville credit for his acting, and the kid was hilarious, but the few real actors in the film were terrible. Basically the few people that actually knew it was a film being made, you could tell they were like really bad x-rated film actors... So, it made staying on plot very tough. There should've been a little more acting, and less stunts, given that this film was supposed to have a story line. It was so hard to follow, due to the constant stunts here and there. It never really made sense except at the end of the movie... The beginning was poor, but the end was well done. The middle was very "ho hum".

A typical Jacka** movie but with a storyline

Maybe it's because I had high expectations, but the movie didn't make me "laugh out loud" the way some of the older Jacka** stuff did. While Knoxville is always great (his protrayal of Zisman is fantastic), the skits performed in this movie just aren't the same. Granted I got cramps from laughing so hard when the kid did a strip tease at the beauty pageant, though. The plot is OK, I guess: The grandpa (Knoxville) rejected the grandson at first but they bond during their cross-country road trip and, eventually, the kid stays with the grandpa. Maybe if I watch it again with a group of friends to heighten the funny moments, I'll enjoy it a little more. It's a good addition if you're a Jacka** fan (just buy it when it's on sale.)

Oscar nominated for makeup and greatly deserved. Johnny Knoxville goes unrecognizable as an 86 year old man pranking random people and hitting on women with the help of his grandson Billy. Very well acted by Knoxville and Jackson Nicoll is fearless as his unrelenting grandson. Irving and Billy are a comedy duo I'd love to see again. Rooting for them at the Oscars tonight because wouldn't it be great to hear "Oscar winning film" Jacka** presents Bad Grandpa.

If you are renting, buying or watching "Bad Granpa" then you probably already know that it is not a well thought out drama, romantic comedy or thriller with heavy plot twists. It is a delightful comedy full of the childish humor that makes us still giggle in our 30's. The fact that the real life people were not told it was a movie until AFTER the scenes were shot makes the reactions that much more priceless.

I heard this was a good movie and really funny. I didn't know what to expect from all the different comments I had heard. There are funny scenes in it but it also have a few nude scenes of the old man that I didn't care to see. I got a good deal on the movie, if it wasn't for that I would have to see it on Netflix or something. I would only recommend it to the people I know like movies like this one.

This is by far not the most funniest comedy I have ever seen. But it does have some very hysterical moments. What also makes this movie unique (and a positive attribute) amongst the other jack*** productions is that this has a storyline. Yes, The storyline is simple and easy to follow, but it's nice to see a somewhat realistic storyline unfold on the big screen from jack*** productions.

I would say this is a good four stars, easily and it would be a fair qualification. But! this is not the type of humor everybody might digest easily. I do and that is why , if you like this punk rock skate type of comedy, this is good for you. I love it , never get tired of watch it again with my wife (she has no choice) . Great, great funny movie.
