      ***Pros*** LG Touch Screen UI is responsive and sings on cycle completions Lots of different wash modes along with custom washers via WIFI Software ***Cons*** Multiple Bad LG Washer Units = 1st Bad Drum/Vibrations/Knocking , 2nd Bad Drum/Knocking/Squeaking Noise (currently awaiting 3rd Replacement) ***Cons Other*** Best Buy Delivery Department system - Stuck on "In Transit" so I am unable to receive replacement. Best Buy Delivery/Install Techs - No customer service, very pushy/busy and will cut corners on testing installation. Delivery Depot Support Line - Long Hold Times and DO NOT HIT OPTION 1 to opt out to voicemail. The voicemail box is full and unmonitored. *****Events That Took Place***** Very rarely I write reviews however felt this one is needed as I have had nothing but one horrible experience after another with this LG Washing machine. To give some background, I always had a top loading washer and a first time customer for LG products. However after reading reviews I decided to take a change and purchase an LG washer and switch to a front loading washing machine. Little did I know it would be such a horrific journey that is still ongoing today. I purchased the LG washing machine and installation package with Best Buy. Upon arrival the company Best Buy partners with installed the machines however was "in a hurry" not willing to wait for the full test to complete. I went off of what the install guys said they did for testing and ran Spin / Rinse on empty then they took off. Little did I know the installation guide says to test the washing machine with at least 6 pounds of clothes on Spin / Rinse to verify leveled and Drum is in working order. So I place a load of clothes only to find a loud knocking noise / vibrations during the washing cycle. As it got to the end of the cycle "Spin / Rinse" phase it was unbearable and I would have to stop the wash, readjust my clothes and restart multiple times until it finished. Called Best Buy and they sent a guy out to "level" it even though I said the noise was internal and I have verified leveling with the leveler I had. Well the technician came out who found it was leveled but the internal drum was bad. Its a brand new washer and it had a bad drum! So I had to recall best buy to replace it. Second LG washing machine arrives , this time the new one appears beat up with markings and a small dent on the side. The delivery install team said they can clean it up once its installed. So they took out the 1st LG washing machine and installed this one. I asked them about checking the leveling of the machine and they said its not needed. Well they stared the test empty again on the Spin / Rinse and I told them the installation book says to test with 6 pounds of clothes on Spin / Rinse. They did not wish to do that so during our discussion over needing to do that the LG washing machine started making horrible squeaking noises. The best way I could compare the noise would be a bad belt on a car when the engine is running. So this 2nd LG Washer empty was making horrible noises during whole cycle. I didn't even have to test with the 6 pounds of clothes this time around. The delivery/install guys were there and said I would need to call Best Buy again for another replacement to be shipped so I called that same day (Saturday). They quickly scheduled for a 3rd LG Washing machine replacement Wednesday. All day I waited Wednesday for a call / delivery of my unit yet nothing. I called that evening only to find out that the Best Buy's Delivery system had my old deliver from Saturday in "In Transit" status so the new delivery never took. They Best Buy Rep said that the Delivery department is a separate department and I would need to be transferred. After 40 minutes on hold with no word of my placement in call queue or no agent coming back onto the line saying that group has long hold times I hang up. I call back to inform the next Best Buy agent of everything that I just found out along with the hold time. The agent then informed me that normal hold times for Delivery Department is about 40 minutes and they are the only ones that can correct the error in the system. So I get transferred over there again and this time ended up waiting over 60 minutes on hold. This time around there was a hold message that I can hit "Option 1" to leave a voicemail and someone would call me back. DO NOT HIT OPTION 1 !!! I found out it goes to a voice mail box that is completely full/unmonitored and disconnects the call. So I call back again, on my 3rd call back I have been escalated to a case manager. I let her know of everything along with the delivery system still showing "in transit". She said she would take ownership of this issue and call me back once system is fixed and delivery is set. Well its now been a week and no word from anyone at best buy. I guess their delivery system still has me in "in transit" status as I sit here with a broken LG Washing Machine. At this point I do not know if its the LG Product , the Delivery / Install Team or both that if causing faulty units. This has been one of the worst experiencing I ever had as I have always bought large ticket items from best buy in the past.

      Poor Repair Service


      Word to the wise--stay away from LG washers. We purchased an WM9000HWA and approx. 6 months later, the tub cracked. Response was fantastic to start. Had a repairman there within 2 days. He diagnosed the cracked tub and stated he had never seen anything like it. Thought was it was damaged in shipping, or a manufacturing defect. He recommended we request a new machine. Stated he does not do tub replacements because LG does not pay him enough to do the repair. Contacted LG to find a new repairman--took almost 2 weeks to get another repairman. Repairman came out on 2 Apr 18 (almost 3 weeks from 1st call). Took 4 days and 28 hours to get the old tub out, and the new tub in. Wasn't getting to our house until after 4pm each day, and staying to well past 10, and 11pm nightly. He kept saying he was almost done when we would ask him to leave. Didn't have the proper tools to remount the spring. Told my finacee at first he was going to "McGyver" the machine up. Then later told her we didn't need that piece. He then leak tested the machine and it leaked all over the floor. He didn't tell us when he left that night there was water all over the floor. Told my fiancee the motherboard was bad. He had to have toasted the motherboard as he would not have been able to leak test the machine. This guy has never come back. After talking with LG again, one rep told me he couldn't do anything as the repair was still assigned to the repairman and he had no updates from the repairman. Rep told me it was MY PROBLEM that he had not received an update from THEIR REPAIRMAN. Finally talk with another supervisor who refers back to the first repairman. I spoke with him on the phone and he stated he didn't want to come out because of what he fears to be a huge mess that the last repairman left. Finally--at least I thought, our case was referred to the resolution team. Their response was we need to continue with the repair as the parts are already there!! Going on 7 weeks without a washer, and it has been a nightmare trying to get someone out to service the machine. We have asked several times to have the machine replaced. LG DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER and its obvious. We will be filing a lawsuit, reporting to the BBB and whatever other remedies there are.

      Great for Wash / Bad WiFi-App Integration

      I bought the Washer, Dryer and Sidekick. Ran through several loads so far and really love the cleaning results. The WiFi setup; however, was not well documented and complicated. I ended up holding down the WiFi connect button and then searching on my iPhone for the Washer/Dryer WiFi connection (doing each one separately) - looked up my network settings for the gateway and plugged the gateway IP in the browser which took me to the network config page for the item... This finally get the device online and connected to SmartThinQ. The App, what a terrible effort, it has not been updated since 2014 and clearly does not yet support either product (at least on the iPhone). I found a PDF for LG's Home Chat which is a service through an app called "LINE" - downloaded and noticed it could add my Dryer but not the Washer... have not yet tried it, but it would be nice if I could tell when a cycle was finished since my pair are in the basement. Tried via the website and it constantly fails on the Washer - cannot upload onto either device pre-programmed wash/dry settings from the website - it just goes to a page cannot be found. The Sidekick, only have had the pair up and running since this last week and have only tried this with one load. It is small (as expected) so really only useful when you have a small load - like a single outfit or what not. Also, in case you are wondering, the Sidekick does not have WiFi integration. The steam function on the Dryer, experimented with this - it basically squirts water on the clothes, there is a sanitary steam function which eventually turns the squirting water into steam - have not had a reason to try this yet so not sure how well this function works. But it does seem to squirt/spray what seems like a lot of water... [based on an empty drum] I may seem highly critical, but for this price point I would have expected everything promoted about these devices to work out of the box. Once they do, and I can be upstairs and my phone tells me to transfer the wash to the dryer or that it's time to fold the laundry, then I will be excited about my purchase! Because these are otherwise pretty great!

      This is a very nice washer. It is much like the more expensive signature series from LG, it just doesn't have the full touch screen. This is still wifi capable and is the largest size LG offers. It has literally every bell and whistle you could get on a washer. It is very efficient. I did not end up getting the stands because of the expense actually. It is $500-700 for the washer depending on if you get it on sale. Plus another $350 for the drawer stand. That is more than most people spend on their washer and dryer combined. I realize that this pair can be upwards of $4000 all said and done, but honestly, for that money they should throw the bottom washer in anyways. Samsung has a model that is similar, and its built in their washer to begin with and on top to boot. This is very nice, and I didn't want the Samsung washer, I thought this one was much more appealing anyways. I got the extended warranty, although I have never had an issue with my previous high end LG washer and dryers except for the lint trap was junk. This one is much more robust and does not look like it will fall apart like the last one did. I must say that previously LG would charge you for every little thing. They did not care what model you had or how much you spent. There was no customer loyalty. I wanted the white ones that would match my cabinets but grey was the only color available. They are big, really big, in comparison to other units. Be aware of that, and do measure. I can just open the laundry room door with the washer door closed. I feel like someday, it may happen that they bash together when someone isn't thinking about it. We will see.

      This LG is the most innovative Washer on the market today with steam, 14 wash cycles, the optional Side Kick Washer-in-a-Pedestal & so much more! It cleans the clothes thoroughly with no drama or difficulties, no leaks, loud noises or smells. This is a gorgeous machine, with the controls & expansive display on the door. It is the quietest Washer & the highest rated Energy Star Washer on the market today. I love how it plays an upbeat tune instead of the old BEEP, BEEP! of our other appliances! Only one complaint: The WIFI sets up but on iOS devices, all you can do is to turn the machine off, once it is running. iOS was clearly an afterthought, in fact the instructions state it does not support Apple iOS. This is inexcusable for a product that lists for $1,799. Other than that one complaint, it stays balanced, sips energy & runs quiet & true!!

      this washer is great, I m still a little unhappy about best buy who makes the claim of a best price guarantee. This is such false advertising, the salesman was so helpful and even fund a smoking good deal on the exact items I was looking at including this washer, dryer drawer and drawer washer which he said is no problem to match. However when the manager saw the deal he said no way he could do it, I pressed as to why it was a local competitor and a big box place as well. he agreed and said the price simply too low and he wouldn't match the price. I was very disappointed by that response, he said it wasn't an issue of who the competitor was or that the unit was different just that the price was too low. Best buys website says they will match any price even it is below cost and that is simply a lie based on my experience. I ended up buying it here anyway because I wanted to use the 0& financing but I would advise anyone to steer clear of best buy best price claim.

      We normally would choose a Kenmore unit but due to the current state of Sears we went ahead and purchased this unit which is the sister unit to the Kenmore Elite. The Good: Huge Capacity, makes it awkward when only washing 5 pair of jeans for you feel you are wasting time and water to do such a small load Whites, It has made even the dingy of whites white again Cycles, So many you cant figure out which one you really need to use Color, clear coated metal is a real nice touch. Hope it hold up to the abuse of life. The Bad: The slide doors on the top of the washer and dryer are very flimsy. I see these being a week point in the life of the units. The built in handles on the side of the washer with plastic inserts fall out when there is a heavy off centered load in the washer. They pop back in but really? The touch screen controls are so touchy all you have to do is get close and they come on. This would not really be a problem but our laundry room is also our main entry for us, so they are always getting brushed. Overall I can say I am satisfied with these units and hoe we will be for years to come. I did however purchase the 5yr extended plan just in case. It is cheap insurance for an expensive purchase.

      We upgraded from a 10yr old Kenmore Elite front loader. This LG is larger and quieter. Love the lighted stainless tub and all of its features and wash cycles. This is the most efficient washer in terms of electricity and water used according to energystar. This unit is quiet and vibration free at 1300 rpms during the spin cycle. The most noise that's made is during emptying after rinse. It has nothing to do with the washer, the noise is coming from the water being dumped into the drain. Even when the washer and sidekick are running together, the. noise level is very low. All of the reviews saying that it's not Apple IOS compatible, well it is now. I did a search on google for the Smart ThinQ app and downloaded from LG rather than Apples App Store. Washer and dryer connects quickly. The app allows full function of the washer and dryer and all of its settings from the app. You even get alerts when the load is done and you can watch the progress of your wash cycles.
