Q: QuestionIs LG better quality than Samsung?
Asked by Chechi.
- A:Answer When asking the question for any TV which is better you need to take into account the specifications of the two you are comparing otherwise it's not going to be an "apples to apples" comparison. So the first thing you need to look at is the model number. This LG has the model number 65UH5500. This means it is in the 5000 series mid to low range sets vs. a 9000 series which is top of line (OLED follows a similar distinction). Samsung uses a "6, 7, 8, etc. Series" distinction. You also have to look at the display specific specs like Hertz (Hz) rating and others. This one is 60Hz which may have some motion blur during sports and other fast moving video. My son has a 60Hz TV and it looks great. I do see the blur every now and then, but not enough to be annoying. My 65" 3D TV is a LG and has 240 Hz. I like both brands and own both brands. Since I am a 3D fan I went with the LG 65" because they have the passive 3D glasses (not on the one in question though). I didn't want to have to deal with charging them or costly replacements. If you want to make an informed decision it's okay to look here at the reviews and comments, but you should really look for professional reviews since they are the best and removes the bias some owners have because they are only fans of a certain brand no matter what. Years ago I was a fan of Panasonic Plasma TV's and wouldn't consider anything else. I currently don't own a single Panasonic TV. I'm sure they still make nice TV's, but I like LG and Samsung better. Good-luck with your TV hunt.

Q: QuestionWhat's the difference between the 6150 series and the 5500 series? The specs don't show any differences, except a weight difference of 6 lbs.
Asked by jjb.
- A:Answer The 6150 is basically a newer model, but the comparisons are very close for both TV's. They have the same diagonal screen size, same refresh rate etc. The main differences are that the newer model has color prime pro, local dimming and is compatible with the magic remote. Also the newer model has one more USB port.

Q: QuestionThis model support HDR pro?
Asked by Kiho.
- A:Answer Does this TV have HDR? , "YES". Does this TV support HDR?, "NO". I have done a lot of research into HDR to get ready for Playstation Pro and XBOX ONE S and I can tell you this TV isn't what you are looking for. This TV is 8bit. For a TV to truly be HDR compliant it needs to be a 10bit panel. HDR option is just software so this TV has the software and you can turn it on, bit you aren't going to get any kind of HDR picture without the 10bit panel that supports the wide color gamut. So don't expect anything you couldn't do by messing with the normal settings.if it says HDR PRO (LG) or HDR PREMIUM (SAMSUNG) its not true HDR. It only has the software for it not the hardware so pretty useless. But they add it on the name and box to get sales. Best TV with amazing picture and True HDR on a budget is the Sony x900c. $1299 for 65 inch with true HDR and much better everything. Only issue is you may get some light bleeding but for the price it's a steal.

Q: QuestionIf this is an 8 bit 4K TV and has HDR software "HDR Pro" but can't display HDR (able to only read HDR), can I buy an HDR bluray player so I can get the "HDR PRO" to display HDR in either streaming HDR content or display HDR 4K DVDs with an HDR player?
Asked by JustBoughta5500.
- A:Answer Despite the advent of High Definition, our current TV system is still stuck with the colors largely based on the limitations of CRT technology and current HDTV uses an 8-bit system. The two things that define an HDR TV are the TV's contrast performance and the number of colors that is can display. The UHD Alliance has 2 standards that a TV must meet for HDR compatibilty, Standard 1: More than 1,000 nits peak brightness and less than 0.05 nits black level and for Standard 2: More than 540 nits brightness and less than .0005 nits black level. As for the color, requirements, a TV must be able to process 10-bit or 'deep' color which equates to a signal over a billion individual colors. but in order to be considered HDR compatible, a TV doesn't need to be able to display all the colors in a 10-bit signal, it just has to be able to process the signal and produce an image based on that information. It must produce a certain amount of 'P3' color. As an LED TV, the LG - 65" Class (64.5" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV - Black, Model # 65UH5500 is capable of producing high peak brightness so it meets the requirements of standard one as well.Content has to be mastered for HDR in order to work with the HDR standard, in other words, both the source and the TV have to be HDR compatible...^IFV
