Hours of competition
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apparently this game has been a lifesaver on rainy days. I got it for my 8 year old nephew at Christmas. Since I don't play video games, this feedback is from him and my brother. According to my brother it's a blast to play and the graphics are amazing. My nephew gives it two thumbs up and often has to be forced to stop playing and go run around outside. He gets to pick his favorite team and his favorite player and almost always beats his dad. Totally worth the $.

Great graphics, same game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, the game has great graphics, presentation is good, which adds to the realism. Really fun to play with a bunch of friends. Is it a perfect sim? No. Whether you consider this a good or a bad thing...the gameplay is pretty much unchanged in my opinion from previous madden games. I only buy the game every few years, and I feel like the gameplay remains pretty much the same. Same pros: graphics, hitstick, depth of playcalling Same cons: many pass routes tend to run your receiver out of bounds before making the catch, forcing you to throw it so early that for a human controlled receiver, you don't get to run much of a route, all about YAC. Would like to see this game get the significant types of improvements like the NBA2K series has had (yes different developer). All in all, still a very fun game.

Family entertainment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another year of Madden and another year of fun. Each year of Madden brings some new and takes some features away. Some hardcore gamers are critical, but I just enjoy playing the game.

Great video football game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't get Madden in 1988, but I've bought everyone of them since 1990. Some years are better than others, but it is always a good fun game for fans of football. This year's version is more of the same. It is entertaining fun for the family that likes football.

Great Simulation Of American Football
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been playing Madden every year for a number of years, since at least the mid 90's. They have come a long way, every year, adding more and more features to "improve" game play. This year's Madden has a number of added features that makes it the best NFL football simulation on the market. However, as there are numerous "hits" from the developers of this year's Madden, there are also some "misses". In my opinion, in an effort to make the game a better simulation of real football, the developers have taken too much control away from the users and have increased the amount of computer interaction within the game. After all of the years of playing this game, I have become good at controlling a player and making my own tackles, interceptions, catches, ect.. This year's game limits your ability to control the players and to make plays on your own. Sometimes it almost feels as if the game is scripted(programmed) to go a certain way. For example, if you are winning by a decent margin in the second half, you can almost guarantee that your team will cough up a couple of crucial fumbles, or an errant pass from your flawless QB on 3rd down to let the other team back in the game. Also, If you are playing with an inferior team, the better team will have a better chance at getting to a loose ball, no matter how many players on your team are around it. Also, if you're playing against an elite QB, there is an invisible force that make it a little harder to get to the ball in the passing lane when they throw, it just pushes you back a little. An elite RB, the linemen block better and he will break the first tackle. All of the player animations look good for the game, but a lot of the time, the player will do an animation that you were not hoping for and totally blow the play. Maybe it's a 4th down situation and you know that it's a run; You have picked a play, committed to the run, have a line backer selected, hold downwards on the control during the snap, and you player still takes 2 steps backwards first before going forward because of the computer interaction taking control of your player. I like to think of it as it is similar to the new cars that auto-correct your steering by steering you back within the passing lanes if you start to drift. Well, sometimes I would like to cross that line without the computer correcting me, I'd rather have the control. In a nutshell, the game is great but I believe that there is too much computer interaction with the game play.

As far as Madden's go
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a fun typical experience you will get with a Madden game. I'm not as into these games as some. There always seems to be one or two things I think could be better. Overall it's fun and best one yet in my opinion.
