Most advanced fitness tracker that's a TRAINER!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the BEST FITNESS DEVICE your money can buy - and it does not matter whether you are just starting out, are intermediate or advanced user. The company actively invests in their software and cares for its customers as is apparent if you read my review completely. I am an intermediate user, who has tried many fitness devices and I use/have used in the past - MOOV, Microsoft band, apple watch, magellan echo, jawbone up move, polar h7 chest strap and Misfit, so I think I know what I am talking about. Advantages of this product: 1) MOOV teaches you the CORRECT way of exercising, while most devices just report metrics. What good are metrics if you're exercising the wrong way and damage your body or you may not derive the most benefit - see below for more details: 1.1 Running - Your cadence (how many times your foot hits the ground) and impact are two important things that a runner must improve. One must keep a high cadence and low impact for maximum benefit with less risk for injury. If your impact is too high, you can suffer from Achilles tendinitis or very painful heels as well as damage your knees in the long run. Trust me a $ 50 spent now on this device will save you a lot of suffering and medical co-pays in the future. Also a dedicated foot cadence monitor from wahoo or polar costs around $ 50 but can only measure cadence while this does so much more!!! 1.2 Cycling - Cadence is an important metric while cycling too... The ideal cadence is 80+, while experienced cyclists often go 110+ Why is this important you ask? Well if you have a low cadence, you are basically pedaling less often but then in doing so you are exerting more effort due to which you are using glycogen for fuel, which is stored in your muscles - this will make your recovery longer and you'd not end up burning much fat. If your cadence is higher you can basically go on and on and on, and burn fat. MOOV prompts at the right time to increase your cadence. CAUTION: Use earphone in only one ear - as you should be aware of your surroundings while cycling 1.3 Seven Minute Workout - Google this workout or HIIT and the benefits and studies will amaze you. This workout is a god send for those who are super busy. However, without a high paid fitness trainer you may do it wrong not realizing benefits. A fitness trainer will cost $ 40+ an hour. MOOV does it forever and ever for a $ 50 investment plus $ 0.25 every 3-4 months for battery. Checkout my 7-minute workout screenshot to see how I did it wrong in the first set the first time I did it and the robot voice barked at me to fix my posture and form so I did it better next time. 2) MOOV uses a CR2032 battery (8 pack for $ 2 at IKEA) and a battery lasts 3-4 months with active use - this is a big plus because its a pain to charge your devices daily/weekly or to find them dead when you are all dressed up for running/biking 3) MOOV helps you run, bike, swim and do HIIT workouts like 7 minute workout and boxing. One device to mix up your exercise routine and derive maximum benefits. (It is scientifically proven that if you do just one type of exercise, your benefits plateau) 4) MOOV plays well with your existing equipment (e.g., a polar H7 or magellan or any other BLE chest strap) 5) MOOV can write back to Strava - which is a very good website for running and cycling benchmarking and social sharing 6) For those who do not own a daily tracker - MOOV can double up to measure your activity for the full day and sleep for the full night. However, it uses an ingenious method of measuring "Active Minutes" which is scientifically a superior method to plain steps -- have you heard the saying NOT all calories are created equal - well guess what the same holds good for Steps/activity and Moov's algorithm tracks metrics the right way. 7) Excellent after sales support and honoring their warranty. I actually faced an issue 8 months in my ownership and was dealt with in the most generous and professional manner. Disadvantages of the product: 1) Due to it being a new product there are not many users so you will not be able to compete with your friends who own Fitbit or other popular mass-market devices. However, if you own a iPhone 5S or above - just download Fitbit (or any app your friends use) and tell the app to use the phone's built in motion coprocessor and you can still compete with them (workaround) 2) You need to keep your smart phone with you for all modes except swimming. This will be an issue for people who like to go running or biking without their phone. For me however, the phone is always with me as it is a safety requirement. 3) The robot voice is a drill sergeant and when you use the device for a long time you will find them repetitive. However, there is a setting to reduce the feedback and you may want to do that once your form improves. However, the benefit of her feedback far outweigh her strictness (LOL) - so actually this is BOTH an advantage and a disadvantage - depending how you feel about her. Screenshots: I have put screenshots of the four modes that I have used so far - Biking, Running, Swimming and 7 Minute Workout. As you can see it guides and tracks the kind of metrics that no other fitness device / wearable can do in the market. I have also shared examples of images that it generates if you want to share on social media. (It won't do it - just give you the images to do as you please with them). I also included a proof of owning this so that you know this review is genuine. Disclaimer: I purchased the Original MOOV Classic with rechargeable battery, and when the Lithium Ion battery no longer held charge, I wrote to customer support who apologized for not having that product in stock (apparently I bought it when it had already been phased out), but they were extremely gracious and generous, and provided me an upgraded model of MOOV NOW - 3D free of cost. I have used the classic MOOV for 8 months and the new one for a month at the time of writing this review.

Nice tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first I didn't know much about how to use it, the manual didn't tell me much about how to use it, only to download the app and that was it, the only problem I have is when I'm riding home from work and I'm done with that workout for some reason it always says no data was recorded even though I did see it on the way home but it records on my way to work, haven't had much time to usr any other workouts but I'm still looking forward to checking those out, I would definitely recommend this for someone who doesn't care to see the display part on the watch.

Decent workout tracker for cardio
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a decent workout tracker if you're looking to track some running, or biking, and since it's a water-proof, it is also wonderful for tracking swimming. My one major complaint is having to sync it with my phone every now and then to get the data, because I would forget. Also it doesn't track activities like lifting all that well.

Work great as a swim fitness tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for my daughter, who is on a swim team. It works very well and tracks her swimming and strokes fairly accurately. Once already paired with a smartphone (she uses an iphone 4S, a hand me down), all she has to do to activate is open the Moov app, push the middle of the Moov and it's ready. Once done she goes back onto the iphone, clicks a button on the phone to tell the Moov to stop recording her swimming. There is no need to rush to swim once you activate the Moov. It will start recording once you start swimming, which can be minutes later. But this is my only gripe.... that you need to let your iphone know that you're about to activate the Moov to start recording swim laps and strokes. It would be simpler to just push the button on the Moov to recording swimming and later sync to your smartphone. I do recommend this as it seems fairly accurate to recording the type of swim strokes, number of laps, number of strokes per lap. It really helps to track her progress. I give it 4-starts simply because I would prefer a simpler interface to record swimming and later sync'ing to the smartphone.

worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My only complaint is it doesn't connect with S Health and doesn't track regular activities. Example, On an average day I walk 5k steps but my Moov Now says I only have like 4 minutes of activity. Other than that, I love it. Its waterproof, comfortable, and easy to use. I wouldn't recommend this to a friends that don't do intense workouts but for those that do, this is a totally recommendable product.

Does a basic job of tracking activity
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The design is easy to wear and comfortable. The sleep activity tracking seems to be pretty accurate, however the activity is not. I would love for it to have the option to add a general workout, not just the ones that are included on the device.

Not as good as it is made out to be
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Run tracking and coaching is very good in general. But the app is a big let down. It is hard to see the charts inside the app on a cell phone screen (I have iPhone 6S). Would have been useful if same data was also available in a web browser. The connection between the tracker and the phone is not reliable (I keep the phone in the pocket of my running shorts). It failed to register a few of my runs because of connection issues. And even when it is connected, it keeps saying "connected" too frequently. I am not sure if that is because the connection is not reliable or if it is just a feedback indicating that all is well. I would like to see an improved app experience and a better way to look at and make sense of the data.

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does everything as advertised, tracks everything at a good speed and accurately. Sleep analyst is very good for tracking your best and worst sleep patterns. It's harder than expected to get the battery out to change after some time of use.
