Excellent Lightweight Travel Camera
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. My first mirrorless camera that I used for two weeks in Africa. Thrilled with functionality while still being light and easy to carry with me. Really like that viewfinder shows image and functions selected while allowing the display to be off to save battery on long safari drives. Easy to switch between different settings and many sharp pictures with great color. Outstanding for advanced beginners/medium level or just an extra camera for advance photographers. Included some photos (not at their highest resolution) from the trip.

Perfect for on the go
||Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed. After extensively doing research for a mirrorless camera, I decided on this camera not only for the looks, but the quality within a reasonable price. It’s easy to use, the features are fun to play with, and it’s perfect for on the go. When looking at photos on the display, almost looks like a bad photo when you are only looking at it on the display vs when you upload it onto a bigger screen. The app is easy to use and connects quickly with my phone. Only big disappointment is how expensive other lenses are, especially a wide angle.

5 STAR - second camera. 4 STAR - first and only
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. Before EM 10.3 OK. I own the following in the order they when were purchased. Canon 80D DSLR, OMD EM10.2, OMD EM1.2 . 80D and EM1.2 are action cameras because of the phase detect autofocus points. I purchased em10.2 for a Grand Canyon trip. Smaller, electronic view finder for them bright sunny days when the back panel display is useless. I chose EM10.2 over Sony 6000 because of more functions can be assigned to more buttons, 2 knobs and a touch panel to pull a focus box while looking through the EVF. Then came EM10.3 I know there are only 2 configurable buttons and less functions to configure to the buttons. It still has contrast autofocus. Yes is has 4K video that I will never use. For all the reasons why not to buy EM10.3, I did and it does grow on you. I keep a Pany 25mm f1.8 prime on it. Recommendation: From the start change Btn2 from default of X2 to Magnify. You can always crop the image in place of the X2 function. Magnify offers a quick verification of focus on a focus box. Also set Custom menu A [AEL/AFL] (pdf manual p115) MF to mode 3 where you get a momentary S-AF when you press Btn 1. Put the camera in manual focus. The Btn1 flips the camera between M and S-AF. 4 STARS rating as a first and only camera. 5 STARS rating as a second camera. Since I cannot come back to this review and add more info, I will have to use the comments.

Decent Value Not Great Value
||Posted .Was originally planning to treat myself to the Leica D-Lux series but thought I should consider more reasonable compact SLR's. The M10 Mark III offered excellent design of all the manual features I wanted from a full size Digital Digital SLR in a great medium compact package. A+ on the controls and Design. Great pictures but would prefer the higher MP of similar models. The 1st Camera I picked up from BestBuy was Lemon that would not power up correctly and would shut down. No Leica! BestBuy promptly replaced. My key issue is the incredibly poor software interface for the WiFi function with your Smartphone. Utterly useless. The app continually loses synch with your phone and you constantly have to reconnect after just having done so.

A fun, retro styled camera
||Posted .I love the look of this Olympus camera. A common comment: "My dad used to have a camera like that." Yeah, mine did too. Except, Dad shot with film, and this is a digital camera with a Micro 4/3 sensor. Out of the box, I was able to take good pictures with this camera. Its advanced features, however, take time to master. I've only just begun to tap into what this thing can do. The learning curve keeps this from being a 5 star product.
