Outstanding Second Season
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an awesome second season. It even improves on the first season, which was fantastic. Some parts of the episodes of the first season dragged a bit. The second season is very fast moving and well done. Catriona Balfe is truly a marvelous actress. There are so many emotional episodes in the second season and Balfe was absolutely brilliant - so genuine. She is a bit underappreciated here in the U.S. - none of the late night shows promote Outlander. All of the actors (including the new French actors) are splendid as well. This season also deals with the tragic history of Scotland's defeat by the British in 1745. This is probably the greatest, but the most underrated, show on television. It is so well made. I'm very interested in seeing the third season. Make sure to buy the blu-ray. There are a lot more features on the blu-ray. I can't wait to see what's coming next in the third season. Highly recommended!

A wonderful adaption
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the few, and possibly the best, novel to television adaptions. They have stayed true to the very heart of this book series and to the portrayal of the characters. The costuming is exceptional and beautiful, the acting superb. When I heard this series was being adapted to tv, I was at first concerned, expecting them to butcher it, but I am so happy to say they did not. If you love period pieces, a real romance (with the good, the bad, the angry and heartbreak) with action and a touch of fantasy, then you will absolutely love this series.

Great Show, a Must-Have For Any Good Collection!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I were on a trip to Scotland this summer and there were at least three different Scots that mentioned how much they appreciated the authenticity of Outlander. One of them was a tour guide of ours and he even pointed out several shooting locations while we were there. When we got home we immediately got Season 1 and now that Season 2 is out, we got it the same day it hit the shelves. A great combination of action, romance, intrigue, and sci-fi. It's a great combo for a husband and wife to watch together. Can't wait for Season 3!

Better than Poldark
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have seen these and am looking forward to watching the season with my wife, who is only halfway through the first season. She's hooked, and who can blame her? Sure, at some point the narrative becomes pretty grim (Black Jack Randall!), and at times it can be a little send-the-wee-bairns-to-bed steamy, but the series is great overall. Having traveled to the Highlands in an earlier lifetime (pre-kids), the scenery brings back some great memories of the gorgeous landscape

If you love Outlander, this is a must have.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Outlander video series which plays on Starz is an excellent dramatization of the Diana Gabaldon books. My wife has read all 8 and keeps rereading them. She loves the videos too. I gave her Season One for Christmas, and we had to have Season Two. Great to binge watch and see the story unfold. The cast is excellent and the cinematography lets you smell the heather in the highlands of Scotland. A Must Have for Outlander fans.

The series takes wing this year
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought this as a gift for my Mom who was nuts for Season 1. Well, Season 2 is where the story takes flight. The characters all grow up a bit, the war looms, the scenery changes, and time travel is in the air. Ronald D Moore and his crew have really given life to this series - ramping up the story-lines while toning down some of the skinemax styling of Series 1. in whole, if you liked Season 1, Season 2 is sure to entertain!

Really one of the best shows on TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The production design, the costumes, the cinematography and the writing all serve the incredible cast in this winner of a show. If you had told me that I would love a time traveling period romance TV show, I would have laughed at your face. Then I would be humbled and apologize after finally watching it and knowing that you were right all along. Start at the beginning and hope the show runs for another 8 seasons.
