- Answer This product was release in August 2017. This would be good for school work; just understand that you cannot install software on a Chromebook as it runs from apps like an Android tablet or phone.

- Answer Note: Model: CB515-1HT-P39B is not available at Wal-mart currently ... this model has more features than others (higher display resolution, 4GB chip, 32GB memory, touchscreen, newer version plug-in connectors, Pentium rather than the Celeron chip that is commonly found in other model Acer 15 Chromebooks (2017, 2016, etc). - Answer The screen is glossy. I wouldn't call it anti-glare. There's no problem with indoor use but outside I am sure it would get glare.

In the Google Play Store you can download the app Crossover on Chrome Beta: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codeweavers.cxoffice&hl=en Which will allow you to install both Powerpoint & Word. It's in Beta so it may experience issues or be sluggish.

- Answer Yes this one, the 4gb runs faster than the 2gb but it's only noticeable if you run multiple windows at once. If you don't multi task then 2 gb is fine. The 32 gb vs 16 gb has nothing to do with how fast it is, it deals with storage not speed.

- Answer Yes, the Google Play store is included, which means that you can install android apps. The apps downloaded are for tablets, so the touch screen on this laptop will be best used for those apps.

- Answer Processor chip cost and capabilities ... and date of manufacture/chip design date ... Celeron is lowest cost chip of the three ... Pentium would be mid-level and the I3/I5/I7 chips are more recent designs. The I-series would be good for having multiple windows (tabs) open on the screen at same time -- faster processor chip (heavy duty use of the device with multiple apps in use at same time -- using as a laptop substitute). Most Chromebooks are powered by Celeron chips and cost less.

- Answer Got this 1200 x 1900 display, touch screen model for my 96 yo Mother. She has experienced 'fat finger' dilemma trying to touch the 'tiny' icons on the touch-screen. There is an option to use a magnifier feature that could help avoid that dilemma. Note: in native 1200 x 1900 screen resolution many icons have 'tiny' words/letters that are hard to read. A definite advantage is the non-requirement to have and use a 'malware/virus checker' program (no executable programs are permitted on this Chrome OS computer). GMail is an icon on the desktop and makes it easy to access email online -- easy to access as the icon resides in the 'tray' on the screen. You can add other icons to the tray (e.g., Yahoo Mail). Leaving folders (yahoo mail) open on the desktop proved a problem for my Mother -- she repeatedly closed them unintentionally and typing the URLs in proved difficult because of the 'complete the address' feature being on (not turned off). It is important that a limited experience internet/computer user have a knowledgeable 'Chrome OS' user available to set-up icons in the desktop tray that will simplify use of the computer. NOTE: there is an 'detailed' ACER (31 pgs) tutorial that is downloadable to the computer -- it is quite thorough, but doesn't address everything. It does address us of uTube videos, etc. There are very good uTube 'tutorial' videos for various subjects (How to ... ).

- Answer You would need a USB-C to VGA adapter. I purchased a USB-C to HDMI adapter separately and it works great.

- Answer TeXShop is a MacOS specific software which you will not be able to run on any Chromebook. Having said that, there are other alternatives available that you can use on a Chromebook. You can google and try out the other alternatives to see if they suit your needs. Anaconda Navigator can be installed on a Chromebook, however, you will need to go through some hoops to get it to work. Again, google is your best friend to get the installation instructions.
