- Answer I used logitech harmony hub to control my tv and sound bar. You need to add harmony skill in alexa app for it to work then create a group to access your tv seamlessly. Works for me.

- Answer I'd personally go with the Echo not dot and definitely not the Vizio sound bar. These are two separate entities in general. Yamaha makes a great sound bar. The echo is a standalone speaker and does not work like a soundbar.

QuestionWhat all is needed to get Echo radio to work? WiFi is needed but I have heard it only works with certain WiFi. Which WiFi works and which Wiifi will not work? Also is there any other software needed? Subscription to operate Echo how much per month?

- Answer You have to download the app. Have wifi and leave it plugged in at all times. No monthly charge. Amazon prime is a necessity.

QuestionMy mom is in a nursing facility. If they have WiFi to connect to, can Echo be used in her room. Only has TV, no computer in her room and her left side is immobile so I like the idea of voice commands. Thanks

- Answer I don't see a reason why it wouldn't. What you will need is a Harmony Elite or Harmony Hub standalone. Alexa will connect to the Harmony through a Harmony skill. You will need to set up the Harmony to recognize your projector... this is REALLY easy. Currently I run my tv, receiver, xbox1, ps4 and lights. By telling alexa to "turn on tv" my tv comes on, receiver turns on, and lights if it is sundown.. (my option, u can do this if u want) Ur key is going to be the Harmony Hub. Once that is set up alexa will connect really easy. And ur done.

- Answer Its free, BUT I would suggest getting the Amazon Music unlimited option.its the only way to say "Alexa play One by U2" or what ever music you like. Just be prepared for small kids to ask for music from trolls. It can also play whole albums or shuffle an artist catalog.. If you don't want to pay, you can access a couple of music streaming apps like Pandora. That limits you to Pandora channels. You will not be able to ask for specific songs,

QuestionWhy doesn't any of the info tell you that to get all that music you must have the Prime or pay versions of Amazon, Pandora or Spotify? That adds $10 a month/$120 year to the cost of this thing. I bought one today but will return it tomorrow.

- Answer That's not accurate. You can find almost anything through all the free versions of all of those. If you want something on Pandora just ask Alexa, "Listen to Rolling Stones on Pandora" and she'll do it.

- Answer The Echo and the Echo Dot are identical outside of the Echo having a built in 360 speaker so it is already a self contained unit to play music,etc. The DOT is perfect if you already have a sound system and can Bluetooth connect to that system.

- Answer The biggest difference is the Echo has an actual built in 360' speaker so it works as a stand alone unit for playing music,etc..so it stands a bit taller. The Dot contains all the same features BUT you'll need to bluetooth connect to external speakers of your choice to play music,etc .
