- Answer Short answer is no you don't really need it if you already have an online streaming service like Netflix, Hbo Now, Showtime etc but if you don't have one, then you can access tons of shows and movies on Amazon Prime plus get access to ebooks, music and free 2 day express shipping.

- Answer first it will ask for you to connect to a network and password if its required. after it will ask you for an amazon account and password. then you should be setup.

- Answer They do make HDMI to analog converters and they are fairly inexpensive, that will allow you to use any HDMI device with a standard non HD TV

- Answer It comes with everything required for use of the fire stick. There are no "batteries", it's plugged in to an outlet when in use. The first one we bought was from Amazon and the additional fire sticks were purchased at best buy. They all contained the exact same product and accessories.

- Answer you can go to kodi.tv and download the apk for kodi it may be available in the app store on fire stick now. once you side load that app you can load addons to that app and get 100 free sports channels and ppv sports

- Answer Yes you will have to pay if you want Netflix, hulu, etc. Amazon prime is like Netflix because you can stream movies. But only from their library. Hope it helped.

- Answer Yes, You can install Kodi on The fire stick!! Voice remote control will not work for Kodi but it will work for Amazon. YouTube will show you everything!! I Love my Fire Stick!!!

- Answer I have my fire stick attached to a spllitter, so dont see why your configuration wouldnt work. mine goes into this device: PORTTA PET0301S 3x1 Port HDMI Switch/Switcher 1080P Supports then that device is connected to my TV with an HDMI cable

QuestionCan I record shows that are live on Streaming Video?I watch pool tournaments that are streamed live on the internet. Is there a way with one of these devices that I can record those tournaments so that I can watch them later?

- Answer I don't believe this device will work for what you are trying to use it for (record video content and watch at a later time). If the pool tournaments are available through cable/satellite, I would getting a DVR to record and/or sling box to stream video content to a laptop, smartphone or table. If the pool tournaments are only available streaming through internet on a laptop or PC, I would suggest purchasing a PC video recording software like Bandicam.

QuestionWould the firestick work with optimum wifi ?

- Answer Yes, but it doesn’t do a great job of keeping a sound connection with Optimum Wifi Hotspots. It would work best if connected through your home optimum wifi connection provided through a wifi capable modem. The disconnections are constant. Eventually it would allow connection again after siting and waiting a while and then disconnects again. I’ve included a photo below of my network settings and status.

- Answer Fire Stick can only connect to Internet using WiFi. So if you do not have access to any functional WiFi, you will require a WiFi router in order to use Amazon Fire Stick.

- Answer Kind of. Sling TV is a service from Dish that you can buy that a Fire Stick can play. Depending on your plan you can get live TV for the channels you mentioned. Otherwise, without a Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime subscription, your options are limited. The Fire Stick doesn't have normal TV channels on its own.

- Answer The Fire Stick will work on a TV with an HDMI port. Just plug the Fire Stick into the port, and follow directions. Easy.
