Q: QuestionHow long does the battery last for a day, if use Laptop and Mini 3D Printer?
Asked by Chris.
- A:Answer Thank you for taking time to provide feedback about our BN1500M2 unit. Runtime will depend on combined wattage of laptop and 3D printer a BackUPS Unit are made so that there is no interruption on the load and it will give you time to save your work before equipment powers down not really for extended runtime we do have units that have extended runtime options. If you wish to find out the runtime check operating consumption of Laptop and 3d printer and consult the UPS runtime graph https://www.se.com/us/en/products-runtime-graph//BN1500M2/apc-backups-pro-1500va-tower-120v-10-nema-515r-outlets-lcd-1-usb-type-c-+-1-usb-type-a-ports/ If you have other questions, We offer email and chat services through our support site. Q: QuestionWhy does the picture on the website not reflect the Pro Version?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Thank you for taking time to provide feedback about our BN1500M2 unit. The Back UPS Pro family have multiple generations and sku's. Based on the pictures on the Best Buy website it is correct and should be similar to pictures on the BN1500M2 product page https://www.se.com/us/en/product/BN1500M2/apc-backups-pro-1500va-tower-120v-10-nema-515r-outlets-lcd-1-usb-type-c-+-1-usb-type-a-ports/ If you have other questions we offer email and chat services through our support site. Q: QuestionI have a phrozen sonic mini 8k resin 3d printer. Lets estimate that it can operate for 13 min on battery. Supposing the power is only out for 2 min. Will it resume normal power once the outage has stopped? Or is my 13hr print ruined. Is my guess good?
Asked by doubleD.
- A:Answer Thank you for taking time to provide feedback about our BN1500M2 unit. Based on specs of Phrozen Sonic Mini 8k resin printer online it uses around 50 watts but adaptor requirement is 24 V 3 amps or 72 watts. Since Load is less than 10% the UPS may not report runtime properly but assuming that printer is at 90 watts which I see as 1h 14min See "Run time for load " and enter wattage at BN1500M2's product page https://www.se.com/us/en/product/BN1500M2/apc-backups-pro-1500va-tower-120v-10-nema-515r-outlets-lcd-1-usb-type-c-+-1-usb-type-a-ports/ Runtime will also vary depending on efficiency, load and battery capacity. Typical life span of batteries is 3-5 years and will degrade depending on temperature and charge discharge rate (approximately 200 cycles on Sealed lead acid batteries) Data on product page is based on brand new APC batteries and brand new UPS. When UPS goes on of and on battery there will be a transfer time since we have physical relays. Transfer time of UPS will vary from model to model most Backups Pro units have 6-8 milliseconds depending on sensitivity see article "Equipment connected to a Back-UPS product turns off unexpectedly and/or reboots." https://www.se.com/us/en/faqs/FA158811/ If equipment can handle transfer time but it needs to be really short Changing sensitivity of UPS can reduce transfer time BN1500M2 is normally set at medium and setting it to high will allow you to get 6ms and Low setting will give you around 8ms. See Page 5 of "User Guide " on how to change sensitivity https://download.schneider-electric.com/files?p_enDocType=User+guide&p_File_Name=BU+UM+990-91002A+MN01+EN.pdf&p_Doc_Ref=SPD_AHUG-AKMCPW_EN If setting to highest sensitivity does not work look for a UPS that does not have transfer time see SRT and SRTL and other Double online conversion UPS. Q: QuestionIf I replace the internal lead-acid batteries with equivalent LiFePO₄ (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries that match the same voltage and capacity, will the UPS operate correctly and safely?
Asked by Sebastian.
- A:Answer Thank you for taking time to provide feedback about our BN1500M2 unit. Unfortunately the using of Non-APC batteries on the UPS is not recommended due to specific battery chemistry of that is made specific to UPS. A 12V LiFePO4 batteries have cutoff voltage of 10V and Max float voltage of 12.8 the charger of the UPS stops at 13.7 volts which is higher and could damage an expensive LiFePO4 battery also you will not be able to use full capacity of battery due to cut off voltage of 12Volts on a VRLA battery. We may be coming up with a UPS that can switch from a VRLA to a Lithium Ion unit but it has not been officially announced yet and may be on design and testing phase. If you are still having issues with finding correct battery for the unit I recommend reaching out to our support team. We offer email and chat services through our support site. Q: QuestionLength of backup time?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It's hard to give a specific answer on this as it is going to depend on how much load you put on it. I can say when I have a Mac mini, a 27" Apple Studio Display, my iPad mini, and iPhone all plugged in and drawing power the load is 6% and according to the front display it says I'll have between 97 and 100 minutes of runtime.

Q: QuestionWould it power an electric lift chair?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer APC’s Back-UPS models are mainly built to support computers and similar electronics. They’re not really meant for devices with motors—like fish tank filters, air conditioners, heaters, or vacuum cleaners—since those can overload or even damage the UPS.

Q: QuestionHow long could this run a laptop and wifi router? Do you plug your devices into this at all times so if the power goes out they stay on?
Asked by Josh.
- A:Answer Hi Josh, Thank you for your interest in our BN1500M2 ups. It is recommended to plug your wifi router to the UPS at all times so that you avoid losing connection. The laptop can be plugged in when it needs charging. For how long is the runtime it will depend on how many watts the wifi adapter and the charger of your laptop consumes please see runtime graph from the APC website https://www.apc.com/us/en/products-runtime-graph/BN1500M2/apc-backups-pro-1500va-tower-120v-10-nema-515r-outlets-lcd-1-usb-type-c-+-1-usb-type-a-ports/ If you have other questions At your earliest convenience please reach out to APCbySchneider to troubleshoot the issue further. Q: QuestionShould you cut power (turn the circuit breaker for the outlet) from time to time to run the battery down? Will it prolong the battery life? I only have an AT&T router on it. I hope to get 2.5 - 3 hours on of back-up. The load is only 1%.
Asked by DennisL.
- A:Answer I would just pull the plug to see how long the UPS would keep the router up. Circuit breakers can wear out mechanically and they are expensive to replace. I've had that happen. As to shutting it off, I would only let the battery percentage drop to 5% or so. Dead batteries sometimes remain dead. I've never had an issue leaving the UPS running all the time. That's what they do. But if you want to test it once a year, I don't believe that would cause any issues.
