A:AnswerNo because the 1st generation requires physically connecting it to the charging port in order to pair it. The 2018/2020 pros use usb-c connection while the older models use lightning port. That’s why the 2nd gen pencils connect magnetically and automatically pair with the 2018/2020 pro models.
A:AnswerIt depends on which iPad Air you have. This compatibility info is from Apple's website:
Compatible with
iPad Air (3rd generation)
iPad mini (5th generation)
iPad (6th and 7th generation)
iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st and 2nd generation)
iPad Pro 10.5-inch
iPad Pro 9.7-inch
A:AnswerThis the best pencil I have ever used, you can do anything with this that you could do with a stylus. It is great, i waited a several months to get mine, should have gotten it sooner. Btw not a stupid question
A:AnswerI believe the pencil itself will work. The issue is charging it. The 1st gen Pencil charges by plugging it to the iPad charging port. Issue is that the port in the iPad Pro is a different kind of port so it will not be possible to charge this Pencil model. So I have this one for my regular iPad and I have a 2nd gen Pencil for my iPad Pro. The 2nd gen charges magnetically on the side of the iPad Pro.
