- Answer I have Comcast yes it well. What I did when I was buying mine I called them up told him what I was buying gave them the numbers on the box by the time I got home it’s already turned on. I plugged it in and hook it to my Wi-Fi and it worked right out of the box that’s all I have to do. I hope that answers your questions I hope you enjoyed as much as I do.

- Answer Sounds like nothing wrong with modem itself. 1. Check phone to see if you tried to use 5 GHz. band instead of 2.4 GHz to connect to Netgear router. Try connect to router using the 2.4 GHz band which is stronger for most phones. 2. Make sure all VPN and firewall security apps on the phone are NOT blocking you out. - Answer SB6183 is compatible to work with RCN's internet services but please note that you might require a DOCSIS 3.1 modem (like SB8200 or S33) to avail >500 Mbps speeds. Please verify the same from RCN

- Answer Those are the Power (indicating the power connection to the modem), Receive (Downstream Link status), Send (Upstream Link status), and Online (Internet Connection status). The color on the LEDs will depend on the status of your modem, but if it's activated and running online smoothly, it should display the following colors: - Power (Green), Receive (Blue), Send (Blue), and Online (Green)

QuestionWill this modem work with optimum cable internet? And with an Assus router?

- Answer It will work with optimum/altice. When setting up call the company and provide them with the MAC address and it will usually take approximately 30 minutes till the modem is activated for use. Definitely buy if using optimum since they charge $10 monthly rental fee for their modem. Works for optimum 100- 500 plans. Will not work (not capable of 1TB speed) for 1TB internet package so check your optimum package first

- Answer No, please note that SB6183 is a cable modem only (it does not have the wireless functionality). You can instead opt for wifi cable modems like SBG7400, SBG7600, SBG8300 etc. which have the wireless support

- Answer No, this isnt a router. It is a modem. This is what your cable plugs into from the coax. Then it connects to a router with an ethernet. This is modem only.
