- Answer From what I know, Frontier is DSL and this is a Cable modem and I had Frontier once and had 4 modems and none would work with them. So I would say no, hope this helps. though your post looks pretty old. You've probably already found your answer.

- Answer This is a cable modem only; it does not have a hook-up for a phone. Look for "telephone" and "cable modem" to find the ones that can also handle a phone. One that came up in my search is: "ARRIS Surfboard SVG2482AC 24X8 Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem/Telephone / AC1750 Wi-Fi Router Certified for XFINITY - White." I don't know about it; just one option among others.

- Answer This modem is a cable modem and as such, has one input (coaxial cable) and one WAN (Ethernet) jack. If you want WiFi, yes you will need to purchase a wireless router and connect the WAN port from the modem to the WAN port on the router. You will need to configure the router with SSID and passphrase. Disable WPS (It's not secure). If all of your connections are going to be Ethernet (wired) and you have more than one, then I'd look into buying a small switch or hub. Much depends on what you intend on doing. For apartment or small homes and WiFi applications, you may want to look into a "gateway" (combination of modem and WiFi router). Lots of options.

- Answer Yes ,use instead of Cablevision modem (save $5 a month in rental fee) and is attached to a apple router for wireless computing ( you can use a different router)

- Answer Any standard surge protector should to the job. In reality you may want to filter the cable feed, but that would normally result in degraded performance. My real recommendation is to use a UPS for uninterrupted power. I have most computer equipment always protected by a UPS, except for laser printers. It's very important to make sure the circuit is properly grounded so it absorbs any surges.

- Answer This is just a modem and does not have Wi-Fi. You need to buy Wi-Fi router to get access for Wi-Fi separately . The other option is buy the mixed with wi-fi model.
