- Answer No, thank goodsness - unless you enrolled in a program (for example, automatic ink replacement) that has limited prints each month. You can easily see the ink levels visually, so knowing what and when to replace ink is super easy.

- Answer You can print on heat transfer paper, but the colors do not come out the same as your computer screen. Also, you have to use High or Best to get it to print without lines going through your designs. When you use this option, the colors are much darker or different than what you have designed. Also, my printer stopped working after only 2 months and I'm having a heck of time trying to get a replacement printer sent out to me by Epson. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER.

QuestionWhat is the max paper weight (gsm) that the 8550 can handle in cassettes 1 and 2? I want to create postcards and greeting cards, but 80lb cover 216gsm isn't heavy or durable enough.

- Answer 110# if you want reliable printing. It can go up to 120# (I haven’t tried 130# yet) but you will have to manually guide each page in the rear feed. (although it can randomly automatically feed 120# paper, but that’s about 1 in 50 times. So just be prepared to stand there while your entire print job finishes.

- Answer 3.5″ × 5" is the minimum size (smallest postcard size) that you can fit on the guides to be even for Cassette 1. Any smaller and the printer will have problems taking it, which if you need to print smaller, print on larger paper and trim down.
