QuestionIf I only install the black ink cartridge and leave the color ink cartridge slots empty, will it be able to print black-only documents? Or am I forced to buy color ink cartridges too just to print in black & white?

- Answer It comes with all the cartridges, although there's not much ink in them. I would hold on to the color cartridges even when they go empty, in case the printer requires them to be installed for B&W printing. I kept an old Canon printer when the print head died, because it had a doc feeder and I wanted to use it to scan documents. Turns out you had to have all the ink cartridges installed even if you only wanted to scan.

- Answer I bought this to use with my new IMac. I was not able to connect it. I have 5 g network so I assumed that it was not compatible with it. I had to return it. Hope this helps.

QuestionDoes this printer print and scan double sided?

- Answer Yes, the Epson XP-6100 can print double sided. It can also copy double sided, but be aware there is no document feed mechanism in this printer. Double sided copying requires manually flipping the document from front to back during the double sided copy process. The provided scanning software allows you to scan both sides of a document and then save the resulting scans as a single two page document, but again this requires manually flipping the document from front to back during a two step scan process.

- Answer Yes you can, but the quality can vary quite a bit. Some aftermarket ink cartridges will return an error, and won't be usable. This is part of Epson's plan to force you to buy their cartridges.

- Answer Hi FloridaUser, The thickest Epson paper type the Expression Premium XP-6100 is specified to print is 79 lb. Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossy. Card stock up to that weight should feed, but not all media types are suitable for inkjet printing. The XP-6100 can print on envelopes. If you print thick media or envelopes and see smeared ink on the print, try turning on the Thick Paper Type setting in the printer driver. It may correct the issue. Regards, Mark

- Answer Hello. To enlarge printouts from your XP-6100, you can select the Reduce/Enlarge Document option found in the print settings on your computer.
